If you actually take their advice, you'll improve your score.

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

Manhattan Prep knows what they are doing. Their teachers are experienced and will undoubtedly help you improve your score. Beyond some essential strategies for approaching timing and specific question types, the most valuable thing this class will teach you is how to study for the test. The test is overwhelming enough, so for me, having a class that helped me focus my study time and energy was invaluable. My only gripe is that I wish the class was more affordable so as not to disadvantage those who can't dish out ~$1,500 in addition to the cost of actually taking the test. It would also be great if they had a program to sell back the books from the class, assuming they are in good condition.

Manhattan Prep's Value Proposition

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I recently completed my Manhattan Prep Live GMAT Course with Pedro Ledesma and I highly recommend it for anyone seeking to score 700+. Manhattan Prep’s value proposition is that they combine amazing in-person teaching with by far the most useful and helpful online trove of materials. Furthermore, the structured nature of their curriculum is incredibly helpful in breaking up the daunting task of studying for the test into manageable pieces. I could not be happier with my experience and my results, and with the increasingly competitive nature of MBA admissions, I highly encourage any prospective MBA candidates to use Manhattan Prep to attain the best GMAT score possible.

Manhattan Prep was a great program and got me the results that I wanted. I was really nervous about the GMAT because it had been several years since I had taken a college level math or writing course -- even in college I did not go very in depth on mathematics because I was a history major. However, Manhattan Prep's superb program prepared me faster and better than I had expected. The course is very well-organized and builds you up to reach your full potential. The instructors are very intelligent and are talented at keeping the course work engaging. They are also very responsive to questions. I would recommend their program to anyone.

Perseverance Pays Off!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I took a Manhattan GMAT prep course during June/July 2016. Isaac Puglia was my teacher - phenomenal instruction and tips to pass the exam. My first practice exam I took I received a 530 . . . extremely low I know, but it was the first exam of it's type that I ever took.
Fast forward through the course, Isaac's teachings, Manhattan GMAT's material (especially the Navigator website offered) and taking the GMAT a few more times. My first official score reported was 610, a sizable increase from where I started. However, this would not be sufficient for the schools I wanted to apply.
I began to rethink my target schools and where I thought I could attend. I retook the GMAT, receiving a 600. Slightly worse and still little disappointed with my score. I decided to apply for a part-time program at UCLA.
In an effort to boost my candidacy, I looked at my splits, and scheduled a meeting with an MGMAT test adviser (very helpful, and I recommend taking advantage of this when offered). Then I hit the verbal books; purchased a verbal book, and did hundreds of practice problems in a span of 2 weeks. I retook the GMAT amidst the application process after being wait-listed by the program.
I achieved my highest score yet, barely missing the vaunted 700 club; receiving a 690. I was extremely pleased (however, slightly sad that I couldn't repeat my quant. score - which would've put me in the 700+ club) , accepted to UCLA shortly after and will be attending the program Fall 2017.
I would not have known where to begin when studying for the GMAT exam originally, The direction, accountability, and ability to reach Isaac anytime allowed me to succeed.

Manhattan GMAT - Completely Worth It!

Instructor Elaine Loh

Elaine helped me quickly identify my biggest areas of opportunity and helped me design a study plan to address these areas. During classes, she was not afraid to call on each member of the class so that everyone participated. And when my classmates or I answered questions incorrectly, Elaine walked us through the correct answers without judgement. Over the course of the class, Elaine helped us all participate more, which ultimately boosted our confidence as we covered the toughest materials. She also covered a variety of clever test-taking strategies, which really came in handy on exam day.

When I didn't score as high as I wanted to on my first official exam, Elaine had a follow up meeting with me and designed a re-studying plan that kept the material fresh and helped me strengthen my weak areas. On my second official exam, I was able to achieve my target score. I can't thank Elaine enough for her guidance through this process.

MGMAT Course can get you where you want!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

Structured approach and qualified teachers are all that is needed for a successful GMAT experience. I am thoroughly satisfied with MGMAT prep. I found their practice exams more difficult than the actual GMAT but it motivated me to work hard. I had a first shot success on my GMAT. My peer group and my teacher Dan Patinkin were excellent.

Please stay consistent and do your homework. No one knows your weaknesses and strengths better than you. I repeated problems and understood the ones I did rather than focus on trying as many problems as possible. I stuck to OG problems for the most part. I took 7 practice exams (5 MGMAT and 2 GMATPREP). Good luck!

MGMAT Self-Study Toolkit - helpful for quants

Course Manhattan Prep MGMAT Self-Study Toolkit

Location Online

The manhattan prep self-study tool kit is an excellent resource for quantitative aptitude. It is not all that great for verbal, in my opinion.
It includes the following - You get 12 Manhattan GMAT Books + 3 Official Guides
- Includes a one-on-one session with a GMAT instructor
- Includes GMAT Navigator tool
- 5 Video lessons from GMAT Interact
- 6 Manhattan GMAT CATs + online quizzes
- 6-month access to GMAT Club Tests is included, a $250 value

The five video lessons were really helpful. Also, the 6 tests are quite high in rigor. It may not replicate the exact GMAT level but will give you a fair estimate on where you stand.

640 to a 740! Here's my journey:

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I started with a 3-month class-style course with Manhattan prep. It was an online course with 4 hours of class per week. This was great as I managed to cover all the required topics and brush up on my skills. After completing this course I did the GMAT and scored a 640 (Q52, V76). I definitely wasn't happy with this score and knew I could do better!
MPrep offered a free post course assessment (PCA) (which I did prior to the test) and then they also offered a free post exam assessment (PEA). This PEA helped me tremendously by pointing out specific areas I should focus on to bring my score up to a 700. I went on to take 3 hours of private tutoring with the same instructor who did the PEA. I then did the test again 5 months after the first test and this time my score went up by 100 points to a 740!

The PEA and private tutoring were gold! I would seriously recommend them in order to be able to put all your energy and effort towards specific topics which can actually help bring your score up instead of wasting time on trying to get the 'high-hanging fruit'.

My 3-month course instructors were Eric Garthoffner and Pedro Ledesma who were very thorough and kept me committed to a regular study schedule. My PEA and pvt tutoring instructor was Chris Gentry - he was phenomenal and continued to stay in touch much after my sessions ended and right up till the day I gave the second test with constant motivation and prep tips.

I would highly recommend Manhattan Prep as a resource to prepare for one's GMAT.

Good Luck!

MPrep w/ Isaac Puglia

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I had Isaac Puglia as my instructor for Manhattan Prep (GMAT) and I can't rave enough about the course and specifically Isaac as an instructor. I started MPrep in mid-March and was able to reach my goal - 700! which was more than a 100 point increase from my initial practice scores- in four months simply by following Isaac's instructions. I was initially hesitant to take a course as I thought I could simply buy a GMAT book and learn the material on my own but I can honestly say that would have been impossible. Such a huge part of the test is timing which means you need to be able to identify markers and question types relatively quickly to have a decent shot at completing the test. Isaac did a great job pointing out markers and providing frameworks for how to complete different types of quant questions which I found to be crucial during the test. I highly recommend Isaac as a GMAT instructor.

Manhattan Prep course is worth it!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I took the Manhattan Prep 9-session course in Palo Alto, with Ryan Jacobs as the instructor. First off, Ryan is the best instructor I could've hoped for! Ryan was excellent in all components of the test - verbal, math, writing, and integrated reasoning. There was a healthy amount of homework before each course, which I'd encourage you to always make a priority. There are also a couple of hours of videos before each course which are important to watch prior. During the class, we'd review some of the tougher homework problems as well as other problems.

I could never have studied as diligently on my own, and am glad that I took the in person class rather than virtual because meeting other people who were studying for the GMAT was helpful.

My initial baseline score was low 500s which was disappointing because I was hoping for 700+. Thanks to Ryan, on my official test I got a 720! I 100% recommend Manhattan Prep, and if you can take a class with Ryan Jacobs - do it!
