Instructor Mark Sullivan

Strengths:
Consistency, caliber of materials, community
Mark Sullivan was an incredible teacher and resource throughout my time studying. His energetic and analytical approach to the 9-week course, as well as his advice leading up to the test (and subsequent re-test) was invaluable. He made the entire experience feel much less overwhelming, and instead connected what we were learning to the topics we might encounter in business school. Quant is a particular strengh for him: he shared additional drill sheets and resources to help me raise my quant score, which ultimately led to me increasing 40 points between my first official test and second official test. I couldn't have succeeded without his guidance and coaching, highly recommend!

Strengths:
- Good mnemonics
- Manageable workload week by week
- Goes by fast, 9 weeks with minimal skips
Came in with a 36-7ish range in Verbal. Had a 44 on practice tests senior year of college but 3 years of emails led to poor grammar habits. Knew I wanted to transform my verbal approach and Jamie was excellent at giving us ways to methodically work through every question type.
Overall Jamie is a very patient instructor who gave good problem solving tricks and methods that were easy to remember on test day. Comes with decades of GMAT-specific teaching experience. She always stayed after class to answer questions which was good, as the 3 hours seemed to fly by every week!
Strengths:
- The instructor (Jamie has given us super clear examples and great at explaining the concepts needed to pass the GMAT)
- The tips (in the Manhattan content & given by the instructors)
- The structure (homework, CAT, etc...)
- The training plan at the end of the course
Would make the product better:
During the course, the instructor had to ask someone else to take over due to an unfortunate emergency. However, the person who replaced Jamie had a different approach, and I felt this session was a bit wasted. Next time such a thing happens, maybe have some handover in case of emergencies to enable smooth and quick transfers.
Overall, the course was great. I got a lot of tips and recommended practices that allowed me to prepare as well as I could to pass the GMAT. During the course, Jamie provided a lot of super useful examples, or "Jamiesms" as she would call them, that helped me a lot to become better at this test. Jamie was super available to help me decrypt my results and see how I could improve after the mock tests, which was very helpful to better target the potential areas of improvement. She also provided corrective measures and recommended practices to direct my efforts. Thank you very much for everything, Jamie!
Strengths:
The good thing for me was the questions it was really hard for me as this was my second attempt at GMAT and I had exhausted my resources all the OGS, verbal review and quant review and the MBA.com mock tests so I had no original material left but manhattan questions are the next best thing and the way they explain sc questions are amazing.
Would make the product better:
I would recommend to improve the quant section and the weightage of some topics on quant because in my mba.com exams and original gmat both attempts I did not receive a lot of geometry questions.
Preparing for a standardized test can be a daunting task, especially when it comes to the GMAT exam. The Graduate Management Admission Test is a challenging test that requires diligent preparation and hard work. As a test-taker, it is essential to use all the resources available to ensure success.
After taking the GMAT exam for the second time, I found the questions to be quite challenging. However, this was a beneficial experience for me as it pushed me to go beyond my limits and improve my skills. Unfortunately, by the time of my second attempt, I had already exhausted all my available resources, such as the Official Guides, Verbal Review, Quant Review, and MBA.com mock tests.Despite this, I found a solution in Manhattan Prep's GMAT question bank. Their questions are well-constructed and challenging, which helped me to refine my skills and strategies. The Sentence Correction questions, in particular, were explained in a manner that was easy to understand, making it easier for me to identify and correct grammatical errors.
Using Manhattan Prep's resources allowed me to approach the GMAT exam with a fresh perspective and tackle questions that were similar in structure and difficulty to those found on the actual test. Additionally, the detailed explanations provided by Manhattan Prep allowed me to understand my mistakes and learn from them, which ultimately helped me to improve my performance on the exam.
In conclusion, taking the GMAT exam can be a challenging experience, but it is important to use all available resources to succeed. Manhattan Prep's GMAT question bank proved to be an excellent solution for me, providing me with well-constructed questions and detailed explanations that helped me to refine my skills and strategies. If you are preparing for the GMAT exam, I highly recommend utilizing Manhattan Prep's resources to maximize your chances of success.

Jamie’s online prep course provided a great mix of live instruction and practice problems to be the foundation for my GMAT study journey. Jamie is clearly an experienced GMAT instructor and can teach all quant and verbal topics with ease. She also is very good at explaining topics in simple terms and provides a number of effective strategies and frameworks to use to attack every type of question on the GMAT, as well as overall test-taking strategies such as time management and when to guess, both of which are critical to succeed on the GMAT. She is very engaged and patient with all students that come from diverse backgrounds.
I did my Post Course Assessment with Jamie as I was preparing to take the GMAT for the first time, and she created an individualized study plan for me and shared additional resources to target my areas for improvement. This study plan was very helpful to follow between my first and second GMAT test dates, and helped me improve my overall score by 80 points in just over 3 weeks.
I highly recommend taking your GMAT prep course with Jamie!

Jeff was incredibly helpful in improving my score by 40 points (710 --> 750). He pinpointed my weaknesses in both verbal and quant, even though I had really only flagged verbal as a concern. In addition to teaching me strategy and diving deeper into questions I was answering incorrectly, Jeff was just a calming presence with the perfect balance of pushing me to be better and serving as a motivational coach. After taking the GMAT a couple of times with no significant improvement in my score, I was thrilled when Jeff's coaching had a direct and quick impact on my studying tactics and score on test day.
I had taken the subscription for the Manhattan test series. I found the tests worth the money. It helped me to get a grip on the format and get comfortable to be able to solve difficult questions. The tests helped me improve both my quant and verbal skills because of the comprehensive test material they provided. The explanations are also good and crisp. Finally, their customer service is also very supportive. Hence, I would highly recommend their test mocks. If you're unsure, you can always start with the free trial (one mock included) and check whether it is a good fit for you.

The courses I took were virtual due to COVID, and Paul was my instructor. He was very down to earth and made the concepts easy to understand. He really engrained different ways of thinking and methods of finding solutions, which were essential in time management and scoring well on the GMAT. When I had questions on the course material, he would respond to my e-mails promptly and provide me guidance and extra resources to practice. If you're willing to put in the work, Paul knows how to get the best out of his students. I highly recommend taking Paul's class if you are going for your GMAT score goal.

I took the 9-week Manhattan Prep course with Dave, and in addition to his top notch teaching, the class environment he fostered also made the time more enjoyable. Overall, Manhattan Prep's UI was very good and the strategy guides were as well. I had never taken the GMAT before and no familiarity with test, and scored in the high 500s on my first Manhattan Prep CAT. After the class, which was a great foundational intro, I began tutoring with Dave. His insight and ability to explain concepts and strategies were excellent, and he always knew the right leading questions to ask. Dave helped me fine tune my processes, time management, and strategy execution, and I scored a 710 on my first real GMAT. Just a month later, after only focusing on the areas that Dave helped me identify, I nailed my target score of a 730. I am thrilled with my improvement and I cannot recommend Dave highly enough!

This class was excellent preparation for the GMAT. The curriculum is extremely helpful, and the provided book material covers all of the aspects of the GMAT very well. I was particularly happy with the "foundations" books provided that refreshed my understanding of math and grammar concepts I had not used, at least formally, in decades. Our Instructor, Jamie Nelson, was exceptionally good at presenting the material in a clear, digestible, and engaging way, and she provided spot-on feedback and recommendations after practice exams. I would recommend this class, and this instructor, to anyone who wanted to improve on the GMAT.
