Wasn't sure if the class would be worth it, but I signed up for the Accelerated 9-Session class, and it gave me the structure and resources I needed. It also prepared me mentally so I wasn't stressed out about the format of the exam come test day. Jonathan Schneider was a great instructor and makes the different sections less daunting with the careful and precise way he breaks down problems. Despite the fact that it was an online class, I still felt the pressure to participate just as I would have in a normal class. MGMAT will provide you all the resources you need, but ultimately it's up to you to build a study plan that will get you to the score you want.

I completed a 9 week course with Manhattan Prep in April and am very happy with the results! During the length of the course, we went from an overview of each section to detailed strategies to break down and attack each question type. Further we learned how to develop and implement a strategy to use on test day, which helped me to relax and perform at my best on the quant section.
I found both the in-person courses (where you are able to ask your instructors questions, get their in person advice on content, and work through exercises to improve your skills) and the pre-recorded video lessons (focused on teaching MPrep's strategies for each question type) to make a huge difference for me. The only complaint I have is the technology for the in person class, as it feels a bit outdated and I had trouble getting my microphone to function properly for the first few classes.
Overall I would highly recommend the course to anyone needing a high score for top schools, as they truly teach content and strategies that you can't track down on your own and that make a huge difference on test day!

As an older student, returning to academia after a 19 year absence, where I wasn’t the most engaged student as a young man, to say that I was rusty would have been a significant understatement. Though the EMBA program that I chose did not necessarily require the GMAT, they encouraged it for students who, in their words, "believe [their] academic records do not accurately reflect [their] current knowledge of quantitative methods.” Manhattan Prep was absolutely crucial not only to taking the GMAT, but to relaunching my academic pursuits. The online live courses were a fantastic way to reintroduce me to the classroom. The weekly class was highly interactive. At any moment, I could be called upon to answer a question or explain a concept. I quickly learned that I needed to be engaged, focused, and come to class prepared. The homework was voluminous, in a great way. As I mastered each concept, my confidence increased. With each week, I felt more ready for the GMAT and more ready for an MBA program. The instructors were enthusiastic, knowledgable, and great encouragers. Manhattan Prep’s live online courses include the physical books, e-books, practice exams, and access to all of their recorded online content. That’s a tremendous value. At the conclusion of the course, I chose to start all the way over at the beginning with the recorded online material to reinforce what I learned in the live course. If you have the time to do that, I highly recommend it. The material is very high quality, and very engaging. It solidified my learnings and allowed me to go at my own pace when I got hung up. The impact was clear. The score of my initial practice exam was abysmal. I saw progressive improvement with each practice exam. The actual exam was very consistent with what I had learned and practiced. I felt confident and prepared during the test. I walked out with a good score, but almost more importantly, I felt prepared to continue my academic pursuits beyond the GMAT.

After taking a few practice exams and being unhappy with my scores, I decided to sign up for the 9-week in person class with Manhattan GMAT.
This is the best decision I could have made for my MBA goals. I was able to improve my first practice exam scores from the low 500's to a 630 on test day. It had been so long since I'd used a lot of the math concepts that I really struggled to get back into the swing of things.
My instructor, Jonathan Schneider, was absolutely incredible. He was by far the best part of the course. While the study material was all very helpful, Jonathan pushed me in class to work things out on my own with some specific direction. If not for his teaching style, I am positive I would not have done as well as I did.
All of this paid off, as I was accepted to my top choice (Kenan-Flagler @ UNC) this month.
Thank you Manhattan GMAT and more importantly, thank you Jonathan for all you did to ensure that I was successful! If you are considering taking a class, you will absolutely not regret taking it with Manhattan.

I took Manhattan Prep's GMAT courses last year. The syllabus was very well designed and the instructor, Jonathan Schneider, was extremely skilled and up-to-date on the latest GMAT trends/topics/question types. Coming from Engineering background, my biggest weakness was in Verbal section, for which the combination of Manhattan's text books and CAT exams and Jonathan's instructions were extremely helpful. From information on the algorithm that Official GMAT uses to calculate the score, to common mistakes that people make in different question types, to smallest details on how to physically and mentally prepare for the exam, you can ask or email Jonathan whatever you want and he's always there to answer with tremendous resourcefulness and patience, even far after you're done with classes. Two month after I finished my classes I got 710 in my first official GMAT try. I build upon the solid verbal foundation that Jonathan and Manhattan's classes had created in me to study more, and eventually in my third try I got 760 (99th percentile) with a verbal score of 44 (98th) percentile. I highly recommend Manhattan and especially Jonathan's classes to whoever is shooting for a 700+ or score.

While the class is expensive, it was money very well spent. I came into the class a little nervous since it had been a while since I’ve either taken a standardized test, or done any simple arithmetic without a calculator. However, Jonathan gave me the confidence to crush the test.
I was pretty happy with my verbal score going into the class, but needed help on the math. With over a 200 point improvement, I can say that he helped in both areas which I found amazing. The class gives you plenty of materials to go through, and it will be extremely hard to run out of practice materials in the nine week span. The materials and online videos are pretty engaging, and coupled with Jonathan’s teaching, was a winning combination.

After taking Manhattan Prep's Course, I took the GMAT and eclipsed my target score with a 720. I hadn't taken any sort of math class since high school, and managed a 47 on the actual test which was well beyond my loftiest expectations, and a 13 point improvement from my first test. Jonathan's presentation of the material was clear and easily understandable, and the environment during class was always relaxed, supportive, and conducive to learning.
Beyond the simple teaching of content, Jonathan's advice on how to handle test anxiety was absolutely crucial to my success. Taking this course was easily the best choice I could have made with regards to this test.

I decided to take the GMAT pretty late in the game, so I figured I needed a course to keep my attention focused. Manhattan was highly recommended and I have to agree.
I started at a 590 on my first practice, I and got a 700 on my first real exam. The key for me was just diving into the types of problems I was missing and learning everything I could about those topics in particular. This is generally how we were taught to study.
I wish I had done a better job of keeping up with the homework and structure set by the course, as I think it definitely helps to learn the same things at home as in class

I enrolled in the 10 week evening prep course knowing that I would find it nearly impossible to dedicate the time required to do well on the GMAT without some kind of driving force. Manhattan GMAT was the perfect solution. Our teacher, Jonathan Schneider, was knowledgeable, approachable and incredibly engaging. The in-course syllabus set the groundwork for success, and the post-course practice delivered the results I needed. Overall, my score increased 120 points from the diagnostic
Manhattan GMAT properly stresses the most important and most difficult aspects of the exam without neglecting the "little things" than can mean the difference between a 690 and 700. The practice exams are also great, and, while harder than the actual test (in my opinion), allow you to get a feel for what test day will feel like

I thought the course was awesome. The books were great, even if you don't remember anything from high school. The roadmap book also gives a ton of great general advice for the whole prep process. The web site had a ton of great tools besides just practice tests and anytime I had a question about a specific resource, I called the office, and it seemed like there was always someone there to help.
I think it's definitely important to do a lot of the recommended readings if you want to get the most out of the class. I found that the people I spoke to who didn't do the homework were more likely to seem a bit lost or confused. But, if you walk in prepared, you know what your weaknesses are and how you want to improve, you can ask better questions.
I must say that our teacher, Jonathan Schneider, was the best. He always explained everything very clearly and made it all easy to understand. He was even extremely helpful and patient outside of the classroom. Obviously you can't expect the teachers to be able to go over specific questions in their free time, but I must have emailed him at least 15 different general study questions and he always answered in a friendly manner within about 24 hours. I kept thinking, "How am I not annoying him yet?"
I took the test about a month after the class and didn't do as well as I'd like to have. I felt like I had an off day and definitely could've prepared better considering I'd been pretty busy at work. I signed up to take the test again in another month and emailed my teacher for a few more tips along the way. He really advised me through the whole process. On attempt 2, I did 50 points better than the first time and 10 points better than my best practice test. All in all I was very happy with my 730 and glad I didn't have to study any more. so yeah, I thought the course was worth it.
