I live in a city that doesn't offer many in-person Manhattan GMAT courses but was told by friends it is the best course to help prep for the test. So I signed up, a little warily, for the online course.

It was fantastic! It was super convenient to just log in from my home computer once a week, and I had an especially engaging instructor. He made it fun and the course content kept you paying attention and on your toes - constant problem-solving, with easy tools for class participation in the online platform.

The syllabus was really user-friendly and outlined clearly what I should prepare for each week's course, and what I should study on my own if I needed more practice or harder questions in any area. The OG Archer tool was incredibly helpful - it was an analysis I could review at any point showing how I was doing on different question types and difficulty levels. It helped me understand where I was fine and where I should focus my studying efforts (I work full time so I had to use my studying time as efficiently as possible).

Though the GMAT math is supposed to be stuff you've learned in high school, I hadn't really done that kind of math for a while, and I'd also never learned some things like factorials. My instructor was great at walking us through concepts and the Manhattan workbooks and other resources also gave me great practice. I especially liked the easy online format for question practice, where I could set a timer for individual questions or a whole question set to practice budgeting my time per question (this was an issue for me at first - spending way too much time on some questions).

The Manhattan course consistently offers tips and reinforces the most important, like accepting that you won't answer every question correctly, not wasting energy studying for the essay and IR portions of the test, since schools don't look as critically at those as long as you are at a certain level, etc.

Manhattan also has partnerships with other organizations like MBAMission and you can look at free stuff like b-school guides for your top choices, to help you prepare for your actual applications. I also viewed a recorded webinar with essay writing tips that ended up being really helpful when I got down to the actual applications. Great set of resources all around.

I wasn't always set on business school, so I had to do a lot of research in a short period of time to get a handle on the process. Manhattan GMAT resources were a huge help.

Highly recommend the program!

Finished with my course about 4 months ago and took the GMAT in November, finally getting around to leaving a review.

The course was great, the main benefit of the sessions is the guidance they give in test taking strategies. This applies to both general things such as how to manage your time and what to bring to the test as well as strategies for all the individual types of questions (IR, SC, DS, etc.).

In addition, for those who can't make it to all the live sessions, Manhattan also has recorded sessions so you can make up anything you miss. This was huge for me because I missed 3 sessions during the 9 session course and was able to watch the videos later on.

First of all, MGMAT is the course you want to take when studying for GMAT. I have taken GMAT before I took the course from MGMAT and I scored 620. After taking MGMAT and of course following their instructions, I increased my score to 720.

Both instructors I had were very helpful and were very willing to help. Any question we had, they always answered with clear and specific answers. They never left us with unclear responses. Additionally, they always showed us different routes we could take to solve the questions in quant section and gave us very helpful tips and encouraged us to solve the questions in different ways, which helped me very much.

The course structure itself was very clear and it was administered in the most entertaining way possible so that we were not bored or we lost focus.

Personally, when I needed help, I emailed either of the instructors and always had a very good response. They did not hesitate to go out of their way to help.

So for those of you out there looking for a good GMAT course, I highly suggest MGMAT because it definitely offers value for the price you are paying. It is worth every penny.

I recently took the 9 week online class training and found it extremely useful. When entering the class, i scored a 660 on my first practice CAT exam, and by the end i was consistantly scoring betwene 710 and 740 on the practice tests. I just took the GMAT a week ago and got a 740!

The teachers were both extremely helpful, and the collaborative approach helped teach students the topic matter as well as tricks and GMAT strategies, which were equally as important as the topics for me. The quantitative section was my focus and Manhattan GMAT really helped me improve here. I never really had a problem with the verbal sections, however after taking the formal GMAT it appears as though the training and CAT provided by Manhattan GMAT both were accurate in preparing me for the exam.

I took the full MGMAT course but was working 80 hour weeks and couldn't really keep up with the homework. Once I changed jobs, I studied/reviewed what I had done before on my own and then decided to get a tutor for the math section. I needed to solidify content and figure out a timing strategy that worked for me- something I tried to do on my own but it wasn't really working. I didn't want to waste any more time and sought help.

Tate was amazing! He developed a study plan that worked for me and focused not only on the material but also on the mental strength. I also had a time constraint so I worked intensively with him over a rather short time period - he saw that I took it very seriously and pushed me just the right amount. In the end I got a 700! I couldn't have done it without him!

I started the Manhattan GMAT online course in the last week of August and scheduled my test for the last weekend in October. This gave me exactly 9 weeks to finish the class and take the exam following the Manhattan course syllabus.

My first test score was a 610. My second test score the next weekend was a 590. I had a lot of work to do.

The Manhattan course intuitively presented the course material and challenge problems in an effective and efficient manner. Over the course of the next 8 weeks I devoted over 200 hours to class and study time. Most of this time was doing problems on Manhattan's OG Archer software and watching their video solutions.

I used the Manhattan course books to refresh math concepts and learn strategies to tackle verbal problems. I then followed the OG / GMAC books on a subject by subject basis. This was my instructor Avi's suggestion. He suggested that I identify a weakness and strengthen it by doing large sets of just that concept or subject. I liked this strategy a lot and started to see big improvements. I took another test at the halfway point and scored a 670.

During the last two weeks of prep I scored 700, 710, 710 and 710 on practice exams so felt ready for test day.

I felt good on test day and scored a 730. I felt I could have done even better but got flustered during the math section by a problem that completely stumped me.

I would highly recommend the Manhattan program to anyone who is looking for study material for the GMAT. I also bought the Kaplan online program and did not find it as helpful. Kaplan's tests were quality but I didn't find their recorded classes to be effective. Make sure to ask for Avi and Liz. They are the real deal.

I have had an excellent experience with Manhattan GMAT. I took the course in May 2012 and am very happy with my decision.

To begin with, the staff at Manhattan GMAT is excellent. Everyone whom I spoke to before and during the class was knowledgeable and very helpful.
The class itself was excellent. The instructors were great and the sessions were engaging. I had tried studying for GMAT on my own before, but I was not doing all that great. But the GMAT approach is unique and it really suited me.

The instructors focused on fundamentals and, whenever necessary, on shortcuts to save time. The approach with which they solved problems was the key differentiator for me.

Apart from the instructors being excellent, the syllabus was properly divided into 9 sessions. I felt that by the end of the class I was prepared for the real test. I was crossing 700 in my practice tests. Eventually, I landed up scoring 720.

The resources that MGMAT makes available to all students is worth a mention. The various question banks and labs, the OG Archer, Thursdays with Ron, Challenge Problems, Post course evaluation etc. make a strong impact on ones preparation. I really liked the post course/post exam evaluation.

All in all, great course. Highly recommend it.

The Manhattan GMAT Online Live course helped increase my performance on the GMAT by 50 points. I initially began my preparation for the GMAT in the summer of 2011, and ended up taking the test two times last fall -- each time I scored a 690.

I knew that my GMAT score would need to increase by at least 20 points to be truly competitive at top-tier schools and I didn't know the best way to approach my studies for 2012.

The Manhattan GMAT course helped me reach my target score of 740 for a number of reasons:

The Syllabus
The course includes a weekly syllabus with recommended study activities. This proved to be very helpful for me; as an individual studying without direction I was never sure that I could stop studying. Before the course I found myself studying for hours on end and, in retrospect, this practice didn't yield the greatest result. The MGMAT course allowed me to complete the recommended activities and feel good about my study efforts each week.

The Books
I've utilized materials from Kaplan, GMAC, Veritas Prep and Manhattan GMAT, and the MGMAT materials are, without a doubt, the best. While it is important to supplement with the GMAC official materials, the MGMAT books provide better insight into each topic.

The Instructors
In addition to mastery of GMAT strategies, content and best practices, the instructors truly care about student goals and performance on test day. Jamie Nelson is an exceptional instructor; she should be commended on her ability to convey information clearly and to increase student mastery of math and verbal topics.

The Volume of Materials
Manhattan GMAT has assembled a plethora of study materials including Online Labs, Question Banks, Topic Books, Practice Tests and much more. The variety of materials makes it possible for each students to understand difficult concepts regardless of her preferred learning style.

I would recommend a Manhattan GMAT (online or live) preparatory course to all folks hoping to achieve a great score on test day.

Some background info about me and the GMAT- I took the GMAT 2 years ago using the Kaplan self study program and got a 610. After deciding to retake the exam, I decided to switch up my prep materials.

MGMAT is a great prep company - the instructors are very helpful, the customer service team is friendly, and MGMAT gives great instruction on how to target weaknesses. If you are really looking to improve, this is an investment that will definitely pay off.

I decided to go with the online course because I felt it provided the perfect amount of structure that I needed to succeed. I decided to go with MGMAT because I was told by a friend that they were the best, he was right.

All in all I couldn’t have been happier with my experience. I felt that MGMAT truly cared about how well I did even after I paid them.

I took the GMAT twice; the first time I got a 680 (my target was a 700+). After I missed my target score, MGMAT offered a free 45min consultation one-on-one with an instructor to debrief my exam and outline a plan to help me reach my goal during my next exam. MGMAT recommends taking the exam twice, but I decided I only wanted to take it once if I could get my target score. Turns out MGMAT was right, I needed to take the exam twice. On my 2nd attempt I hit my target of a 700! I don’t think I could have done it without MGMAT!!

I REALLY feel like I got my moneys worth out of this class offered by Manhattan GMAT. When I took my first practice test (Manhattan CAT) I was stunned when I received a 560, how could this be, I'm an intelligent person. After the initial shock I realized that this is not an intelligence test, but a standardized test.

Manhattan taught me everything about the test and more. I felt more and more confident as my scores climbed from a dismal 560, to a 640, to a 700, and finally a 730 on my actual test day. I am proof that the material on the GMAT can be taught and that Manhattan offers the best prep program around.

Although $1000 may seem expensive, most would invest that in a heartbeat if they knew they could boost their score up to a 730. Although I did invest 100 hours into studying, it was made much more tolerable through this course and the amazing instruction - highly recommended!
