Helen Summers - Best Experience You Could Ever Ask For

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I hired Helen as a consultant. I have a fairly common background for business school - good undergraduate college, investment banking and private equity background. Helen did an incredible job of helping me learn to tell my story and differentiate myself among a pool of highly competitive applicants. She has great attention to detail and doesn't take on too many people at once so she can truly dedicate the time to her applicants. She is candid, direct and thoughtful in her responses. I would highly highly highly recommend her to anyone considering. My partner also worked with a consultant from MBA mission and he had an equally incredible experience. Both of our consultants made us a priority, learned about our goals and helped drive highly successful outcomes for us. I truly don't think we could have been able to manage our jobs and do this process without them.

Katy is fantastic!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

Katy was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the MBA applications process. She has a structured approach to ensure applicants stay on pace, she is a wealth of knowledge about each individual school, and she is a fantastic listener--working to bring forth wonderful stories to tell in the application process that truly represented me well and enabled me to tell my story in the limited space available to any applicant. I couldn't have been happier with my choice to work with Katy and am so glad I got to be one of her clients and can count her among my friends going forward! You'll have zero regrets in working with Katy and mbaMission!

Stellar essay help & available to talk through any questions

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

Kate at mbaMission was so helpful throughout my application process. Her communication style is very direct, clear, and thorough. Anytime I asked a question feeling totally lost she was able to put me at ease by sharing her experiences and providing her recommendations. Having Kate help edit my application essays made me feel extremely confident in the topics and structure because her feedback was targeted, specific, and always constructive. She supported me from applications, through interviews, and final acceptances and scholarship negotiations. There was never a question she didn't have an answer to, and she was a joy to work with overall!

Melissa will bring out the best in you!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

From the moment I met Melissa during our initial consultation, I knew she was somebody I could trust. I went into the 2021-2022 business school application season with a lot of nerves about the strength of my candidacy and the unknowns of the process – I honestly didn’t think I even had a shot with my mediocre GPA and fewer than average years of WE. But she immediately put me at ease with her calm demeanor and extensive experience. From then on, she was such a strong partner from start to finish: from school selection (which Melissa helped me tremendously with) to resumé editing, essay drafting, and interview prep.

I think Melissa’s biggest strength is that she’s able to bring out the best in her clients. During our brainstorming session, I went on a self-discovery journey with her by my side and she was able to help me identify the most formative experiences in my life that I could draw upon in my essays. By the end of it, we had put together essays that I didn’t even know I was capable of writing - a narrative that elegantly touched on personal and professional moments that have made me who I am today.

I knew I could send her any and every question that popped into my head (even sometimes at 2 AM), and she would always have a calm and informative answer for me in no time. She turned around everything I sent her (sometimes several emails on various topics in one day) under the 48-hour mark and her responses were always thorough and insightful.

I am so grateful to have met Melissa - she is kind, patient, and so so so genuine. It’s incredibly clear that she cares deeply about her clients and I know that my MBA journey wouldn’t have been successful without her. The thought work we did together in many ways was reflected in my acceptance to Fuqua and Ross, both with merit-based scholarships. She is simply among the best and I guarantee that working with her as a prospective business school applicant will be so worth it!

Amazing Experience - Pick Susan!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I worked with Susan on 4 schools, targeting a Round 1 deadline (and only starting ~2 months ahead of deadlines). Susan was an incredible partner in guiding me through a daunting process.

Susan did a fantastic job in pushing me to put forth my best to really enhance my applications. She was always extremely punctual with her feedback on my essays and other deliverables. Her feedback would be tough at times, but it was exactly what I needed to really excel in the process. She was able to pair her knowledge on each of the programs with my story and background to help craft a great narrative for each of the schools I applied to. I really appreciated her effort to truly get to know me in order to provide the best personalized counseling for my process.

Finishing all of my applications in such a short time frame was difficult, and I know I wouldn't have been able to do it without Susan. But with her help, I was admitted to HBS, Wharton, Booth, and Kellogg. I am very grateful to have worked with Susan throughout this process, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a consultant.

Awesome professional relationship

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

Throughout the application season, Melissa made herself available to help me with any aspect of the application that I felt uncertain about. She was always able to sense my uncertainty and provide immediate advice and feedback.

At the start of our partnership, Melissa made sure that she understood my perspectives through countless emails and calls. Not only did she take in all my stories A-Z, but also helped immensely in shaping them to convey my strengths across applications.

It never felt like a bother whenever I wanted to ask Melissa for her opinions, rather she was always happy to extend her services to me. She consistently ensured that I was content with all essay responses, and that they felt authentic. Overall, her willingness to triple check all application components and revisit any aspects I may have changed allowed for a genuine application that I felt confident in and content with.

During interview rounds, Melissa provided very thorough prep sessions that covered all bases from response timing to structure. She helped me prep for each program individually and always asked how I felt after sets of questions - willingly devoting more of her time to helping me.

Overall, Melissa was exceedingly supportive of my thoughts. She took in every idea I had and helped me develop them into well-formed responses. I certainly recommend her services - best partnership I’ve had!

Katy is Amazing!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

When looking into consultants almost a year before starting my application, I knew I wanted to work with Katy based on her stellar reviews. Fast forward to the end of my application season, and I am so happy to have had her on my side throughout the process.

I had high hopes for the advice she could provide about the process given her background in admissions and her time as an MBA consultant. She blew these expectations away with her ability to draw on her experiences and reference past anecdotes of other clients or applications that she read. I had complete faith in her and it was such a relief to not overthink things in an already stressful process!

What left an even greater impression was how much fun I truly had working with Katy. I very much looked forward to our conversations and am now even missing them as my process has wrapped up! As other reviewers have mentioned, in a short time Katy got to know me as well as my closest friends, and she was really able to dissect my “story" and hone in on what motivates me and what my passions are. This goes beyond my applications and has given me a clearer sense of where I want my career to go.

I applied to a handful of top schools with Katy, and am now narrowed down to deciding between a Wharton acceptance and a Stanford waitlist (in addition to some other admits). Katy was instrumental to my success and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Don’t think twice about working with her!

Going into this year-long journey of applying to business school, I knew no matter what happened I didn't want to have any regrets So I looked for the best possible MBA coach in the industry and after speaking to 10+ different services it was clear that it was Katy Lewis. Not only her was her depth of experience and master storytelling invaluable, but her empathy of the emotional rollercoaster of the MBA application process. She was always accessible, encouraging, and grounded, which help me stay focused in times of extreme anxiety and doubt. I couldn't have imagined going through this process without her, and it was through her support that I was able to confidently get into my dream school!

3/3 Interviews and 2/3 Admits with a 100k Scholarship

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

When I began working with Susan, I was skeptical I could get into an M7 business school on my first try. I had a good GMAT score and a reasonable GPA but at 24 years old and with only 3 years as a Deloitte consultant, I felt I needed real help to stand out.

From the get go, Susan pushed me to look into why I wanted to go to B School and to dig into my post MBA career goals. The process was extremely organized, clearly cut out, very well tailored for people like me who have slight OCD and a touch of anxiety and need to know exactly what will be expected of them. Susan had a wealth of experience, recommended I apply to MIT Sloan based on my criteria and communicated a wealth of material so I could adequately do my research. She reviewed each of my essays about 7 times and minutely went over each aspect of my application. In the end, I got interviews to HBS, CBS and MIT Sloan, all 3 schools I had applied to Round 1!

After the interview, I ended up not getting into HBS but I was accepted to CBS and MIT, MIT with an 100k scholarship. The outcome was unreal. Thank you Susan so much for your help and support during this process, 10/10 recommend for a very professional and successful b school consulting experience.

Katharine Lewis: A Fantastic JD/MBA Consultant

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

Katharine Lewis was an excellent consultant and mentor from the beginning to the end of my JD/MBA application process. I applied to the top JD/MBA programs in the United States, and so far I have acceptances to the joint JD/MBA program at Wharton/Penn Law and the joint program at Chicago Booth/UChicago Law. I was also accepted to Harvard Law School. While my work with Katy focused on the MBA component of the application process, given her background as a JD/MBA, she also was able to offer advice and insights surrounding the JD application process, as well as connect me to top advisers who were more familiar with this latter process.

Overall, the key aspects of Katy's support were: the initial brainstorming, the essay review, interview preparation, and holistic confidence building. At the beginning of your work together, Katy will work with you to brainstorm and assess your professional and personal life to date and bring out the application narrative that is most cohesive and aligns best with who you are. While most of us will have a broad sense of what this narrative is, Katy will play a pivotal role in going through all of the details--her outsider's perspective is vital here, too--with a fine-toothed comb. This will permit you to flesh out and really provide much more color to your narrative than you otherwise would have.

Second, as you begin to write your essays, Katy will provide candid and valuable feedback so that your writing style and voice can really shine and stand out. She doesn't sugarcoat and is direct, which really worked for me, especially in the time-constrained context of the application process. Katy will provide top-down support on the essays, from thinking with you strategically about how certain stories and narratives should be presented, to reviewing more tactical facets of the writing process.

Perhaps one of the most impactful components of her support is Katy's work with you on the interview preparation. She's coached hundreds of applicants and been on the other side of the application process (as an admissions officer for Stanford GSB), so she clearly knows exactly what the admissions or alumni interviewers are looking for. We worked on preparing many different stories from my professional and personal background that I could bring to the interview, and that I could adapt to different questions. This way, I wasn't memorizing any script and running the risk of sounding unnatural, but I was ready and confident to share different scenarios from my experience with a beginning, middle, end, and reflection at a moment's notice.

Finally, a more intangible, but nonetheless invaluable, component of Katy's help is the confidence and wisdom she instills in you throughout the MBA application process. By working with her, you know you aren't going into this process blind--she instills in you an overarching understanding of what admissions is looking for, and by helping you to look at things from her vantage point, you are also granted a sense of wisdom and serenity that comes from having done this many times over (even though you are hopefully doing this for the first and last time!).

If you are able to get Katy as your consultant (she is in high demand!), go for it. You will not regret it. She will help you crush your MBA and JD/MBA applications!
