Krista and mbaMission for the win!

Krista is an amazing coach. Her thoughtfulness, concern, and direction are second to none and it was a pleasure working with her during these last two months.

When GMAT waivers were released around mid-April and early-May, my parents insisted on me applying to every school with a waiver. Krista was extremely fair and honest by pointing out (via each school’s employment reports), that certain schools would unlikely help me reach my goals, despite the fact that this likely meant less work for her.

Krista and I arrived at a four school plan and immediately began a push as the rolling June 1 deadlines approached. Krista was beyond accommodating, at times responding well before the 48-hour requirement, as well as informing me when I would receive her comments. Krista has true gift in helping her clients convey their story and making it shine. As someone who often struggles with feedback, I appreciated the way that Krista reviewed my work while also providing explanations as to why she was suggesting specific changes. Krista also showed a true interest in my experiences and story to fully maximize her ability to help.

During our mock interview sessions, Krista displayed her true expertise. Krista interviews for her alma mater and was able to prepare me for the different question combinations I might face. I’ve never performed so well in an interview in my life and I credit Krista for not only teaching me how to respond but also building my confidence.

My situation was obviously unique due to the pandemic and only applying in rounds 3+ without a GMAT, but I would not have gotten into this top program without Krista.

Krista Made the Difference!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by gmat club tests [?]

Krista was a tremendously supportive and encouraging influence throughout the whole admissions process. I started out targeting top 40 ranked programs, but Krista helped me realize that I really was capable of being more selective and aiming for top 15 schools. Krista was so consistent with her positivity and energy - this attitude tremendously reduced the stress that is inherent in the admissions process. From essays, to short answer questions, to interview prep Krista really pushed me to craft the most impactful, meaningful story possible. All of her feedback was clear and never She was always willing to answer even the most "in the weeds" questions that I had - there was never a "dumb" question. I highly recommend working with Krista for anyone who is looking to maximize their profile in the MBA admissions process. At the end of the day, I know that the materials and preparation that Krista helped me with were a huge difference maker in my admissions success. I would not have had the same result without her help! The whole experience with Krista and the mbaMission package definitely exceeded my expectations.

MBA Interview Preparation

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

Approximately three weeks out from my London Business School (LBS) MBA interview in February, I was feeling extremely anxious. Although I had prepared responses to typical MBA interview questions, it felt unnatural for me to practice out loud in front of a mirror or webcam. After several conversations with my partner and family, it became apparent to me that getting help from an expert could go a long way towards being accepted at my target business school.

I had already approached Krista prior to Christmas for a free 30-minute consultation. In that time, Krista provided me with invaluable advice on my application materials and it was clear to me that Krista had come to the meeting thoroughly prepared. Although I did not engage her services during the application season, I was convinced that I could not find a better person to help prepare me for the LBS interview.
Prior to our practice interview session, I used the very informative LBS-specific interview guide which Krista provided. Our session was scheduled approximately 2 weeks prior to the actual interview. I was visibly nervous as I answered Krista’s first question which required me to walk her through my resume. Krista was extremely constructive with her feedback but more importantly, she constantly asked me how I could have improved my response to a given question. With every question, I felt that my speaking style and response improved. Since I was concerned about the impromptu case question, Krista devoted extra time to run through two different case questions. I could already see a difference in my approach to the second case question after taking on Krista’s feedback from the first case question. At the end of our session, I felt more relaxed about the whole interview process and Krista was instrumental in helping me realise that I should treat the interview as a conversation with someone who is interested in knowing more about me as a person and professional.

I used the feedback from my session with Krista to prepare for the actual interview. By the day of the interview, I felt relaxed as I walked into my interviewer’s office in London. As Krista predicted, the interview was conversational and I really got the sense that my interviewer genuinely wanted to get to know me. This allowed me to speak in a calm but confident manner as I approached both the interviewer’s questions and the case-study.

Two weeks before the decision date, I received a more than pleasant surprise- an email from the LBS Admissions office saying that I had been accepted to the MBA Class of 2022! I couldn’t believe my eyes and it took a while for the news to sink in! Along with my family and friends, I made sure I informed Krista because she was pivotal in helping me reach this position. I am truly grateful for her constructive feedback and ongoing support with countless questions relating to both the interview process and my decision to take the GRE before the admission decision was made.

To all future MBA applicants thinking of engaging an admissions consultant in their interview preparation, I highly recommend Krista Nannery!

Krista was AMAZING!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

Coming in with no experience in the application to business school process, Krista was truly a savior. From our first phone call, she detailed everything that needed to be done, in the exact order that made the most sense. While Krista's professional skills were clearly top notch, it was her personality which made me so excited to work with her. Krista was truly invested in my career, interested in my experiences, and eager to learn as much about me as possible. She felt that by becoming closer on a personal level, she would be able to get the most out of me in my application, and this proved to be true, as in the end I was accepted into my first choice school. Our shared passion for international travel will definitely keep us in touch for years to come!

Krista made my dream come true!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by gmat club tests [?]

I was initially quite hesitant about working with admissions consultants, because of the cost involved. Looking back now, I am extremely glad that I finally decided to do it! I am so grateful for the opportunity I got to work with Krista as I went through my MBA application process. My dream of getting into a top school for an MBA would not have come true if not for her.

Right from the beginning - as we went through my profile to decide the rights schools to apply - till then end - when I was preparing for the interview - Krista has been a great coach and mentor, guiding me in every step of the way.

While I was having second thoughts about applying to one of M7 b-schools, Krista gave me the confidence to go for it. She was able to identify my strengths that made me a good fit - something that I had not seen in myself until then.

I ended up really enjoying the whole admission process. The background memo I filled in for myself was the first step. She pushed me to really think about the motives behind my actions - we were then able to discuss and finalize what I really wanted to share with the adcoms. Thanks to her approach, I truly understood myself a bit better after the process!

Overall, Krista is a great consultant to work with and I would strongly recommend her to future applicants.

Krista @ mbaMission

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

Before I worked with Krista, I was really floundering with the MBA admissions process. I had applied to a single top program days during round 1, and got denied before the interview stage in late October. I was distressed and upset; looking at the calendar, I only had 60 days to put together another round of applications (and this time, to more than one school, eek!!)

Fortunately, I found Krista; I had heard of MBA Mission through their school guides, and was impressed by the thoroughness and quality of their writing. I spent an afternoon watching the brief video profiles that MBA Mission has on all of their consultants. When I came across Krista, I knew we would be a great fit. My MBA goals were to stay in finance, and end up in a midwestern city. Krista had done just that in her own MBA journey, and after our free consultative call, I knew that I wanted to work with her over the next few months.

Krista sets herself apart from other tutors, coaches, and consultants by building trust and understanding with her clients, before applicants write any essays, resumes, or video scripts. She has the among the highest EQ of any professional I have worked with. This lends itself to an application experience that will actually be an exercise in self-reflection and professional development; yes, in the end you will have an admissions letter to a target program after working with Krista. But you will also be prepared to tackle your actual MBA with sharpened writing, argumentative, and reasoning skills, alongside conviction and agency that you are prepared to make an impact in your chosen industry and community post-MBA.

Yes, applying for an MBA is daunting. But Krista is a terrific editor, meets all deadlines and agreed upon turn-around times, and will thoroughly prepare you for any interviews, giving applicants a toolkit to face an obtuse and sometimes arduous application process. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to MBA candidates; I have already passed her name along to two applicants in the MBA cycle.

A New Professional Friend

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

I am an Asian male with a mediocre GPA and never worked nor studied oversee. Before reaching out to mbaMission, I targeted several top 30 (global) schools but was unconfident of my profile. Result: I got admitted to 2 top-15 schools with a total scholarship value of 5x my initial consulting full-package fee.

Here how Krista helped:
1. She learned in detail about my early days and professional life, paying attention to many anecdotes that cumulatively shaped who I am. The events were there, but Krista kept pushing me to go deeper and to reveal the impacts they had on my personality. The second-order reflection was truly meaningful for me, as I even felt more understanding about myself and my future objectives.

2. She helped analyze the essay questions and outlined suitable structures with relevant "raw data" so that I can put in my words more easily (this is a really hard process when I did it before independently). Then she advised me to streamline the essay and keep the core portion (the wording limit is there and I always find my initial drafts 1.5-2x longer).

3. For the interview, Krista walked me through "newbie" to "robot" and then "natural" stage, which made me felt really confident being myself on the "super day".

The best part of this whole process was that I felt Krista was both a close friend and an attentive mentor who even understands me more than I do. I even missed her frequent emails and correspondence when the applications were settled.

I honestly think that the Start-to-Finish package with Krista (and mbaMission) was one of the 2 best value-for-money investments that I have ever made.

Highly recommend Krista Nannery from mbaMission

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I am confident that without Krista, I would not have experienced even close to the level of success in my business school application process, let alone been accepted into my dream school.

I graduated from a top 30 undergrad university with a 3.6 GPA and applied to business schools with a 710 on the GMAT. I applied R2 to six schools: four with Krista’s help (Wharton, Booth, Kellogg, Stanford) and two without (Sloan, Haas). I received offers from Wharton, Booth, Kellogg and Sloan and will be attending Wharton.

I was initially on the fence about hiring an admissions consultant because of the price, but now that I’ve completed the application process, I am extremely glad that I did – it was worth every penny. I picked mbaMission because my friend applied to schools during R1 and got into her top choice. She had great things to say about her consultant, so I decided to give it a shot. After speaking to Krista on an intro call, I was very impressed with how professional, straight-forward and organized she was. My main concerns were 1) relatively low GMAT score and 2) starting the application process late (I had my initial call with her in mid-November and apps were due the first week of January). Krista helped me set proper expectations in terms of the schools I wanted to apply to and was able to reduce my concerns about timing by very clearly laying out the steps of the application process.

Krista was an absolute whiz at helping me figure out my story. One of the first things I did after signing up with her was fill out a background memo on myself. I spend a few hours answering the questions (some of which seemed random at the time). After hopping on a call, however, we were able to piece together my story which I hadn’t even realized existed in my answers. She found connections that I never would have recognized, and I was able to leverage her insight and suggestions to write my essays.

Krista is also exceptionally organized and never missed any deadlines to return her edits to me. Her comments were very helpful and I knew that I could count on her to provide perceptive answers to my questions (regarding relevance, flow, sentence structure, word choice, among others). She would push me to explain the reasoning or meaning behind my words which resulted in me writing better essays. Every time I spoke with her, we set a timeline of when I should send the next deliverable to her, and it made staying on top of all my applications effortless.

By the end of my process, I felt like Krista knew me better than I knew myself. She could have easily answered any interview question better than I did during my interviews. She was incredibly invested in my success, very timely in her responses and an absolute pleasure to work with. I strongly recommend Krista as an admissions consultant!

Krista at mbaMission has made all the difference!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

As a re-applicant, just the thought of going through the MBA application process again can be stressful. Looking back, it's fair to say that I would not be where I am today without Krista's help and guidance through my R1 application.

Krista's expertise lies in her familiarity with international applicants and their global experiences, as well as her unique ability to "sell" an applicant's candidacy by emphasizing on his/her strengths. I think the application essay is by far the most important item to work with a consultant on , and in that respect, Krista knows exactly what adcoms are looking for and will work with you to bring out your most powerful strengths for the adcoms to consider.

Krista is very quick to respond to emails, has a highly-organized work/turnaround schedule, and is always available through video chat to talk over the most minute of concerns on my application. This means that you will in turn have a highly-organized application schedule as it is in sync with hers. I am a frequent traveler and sometimes had a 15hr time-zone difference with her, but thanks to her organization, it was completely fine. Krista is relentless in editing essay drafts; she will demand nothing less than a state of near-perfection from you. That being said, she is also effective in communicating the reasoning behind every edit.

Throughout the entire process, I firmly believe Krista was invested in my candidacy as much as I was. Thanks to her dedication, I was admitted to 3/3 of my R1 schools (HBS, Sloan, Wharton). Krista, thanks again for everything you've done for me, and all the best on your future endeavors!

Krista was a blessing!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

Pursuing an MBA has been a life-long dream of mine, so I wanted to give it my 110% and work directly with an admissions consultant who could guide me through the process. I had multiple free 30-minute consultations across 6 different companies, but I felt an immediate connection with Krista from our first call. She was extremely kind, lively, and encouraging from the get-go, and I knew she would take the time to understand me on a deeper level.

Even before I paid for the school packages, she was quick to respond to emails and answer any high-level questions about the process/GMAT. To provide context, I had a below-avg GPA and GMAT score, but only wanted to apply to top 5 programs in round 2. While she was realistic in setting expectations with me, Krista was always SUPER encouraging and optimistic -- And she always made it a point to ensure I was putting the best possible application forward. In a process that could be quite stressful, you want to ensure that your consultant is always there for support...and I always felt this support and trust from Krista.

The first part of the process was filling out a brainstorming document about my life, work, projects, and aspirations. While it took me 10-15 hours (and ended up being 35 pages long...more than I knew I could write!), it served as an important element in the application process. Krista took the time to read through the whole document and help me build a well-rounded story. Rather than telling me what to write, Krista ensured that I was the author of my own essays, keeping the applications very authentic...And whenever I felt a roadblock, she would always refer back to the brainstorming doc and suggest stories that would fit well with the essays' themes/questions.

Krista was also great about keeping me on track in the Round 2 process -- She does an amazing job of sending friendly reminder emails and holding me accountable. When I felt stuck on one school's application, she reached out and asked that I send her whatever essays I've written. We then scheduled another brainstorming call to walk through some ideas and best ways to approach the essay topics, which made it much easier.

She set the right cadence for scheduling meetings, returning application drafts, and answering emails. And per the mbaMission policy, she stayed on top of the 2-day turnaround (most times, she was even faster). When I got to the interview stage, she was right there by my side to help me prep with mock interviews. Most questions she asked me during our mock interviews were eventually asked in my actual interviews...I would have been very underprepared if it wasn't for Krista, once again, holding me accountable!

Now, I'm fortunate enough to be fulfilling a childhood dream -- pursuing an MBA at a top program...And I'm thankful to Krista for supporting me along the way. Krista is extremely trustworthy and took a huge interest in learning about my family, life, personal goals and desires. She is truly an amazing friend, and I look forward to staying in touch with her in the future.

I highly recommend Krista as a consultant...she has really been a blessing for me!
