I took the Verbal Online course on E-GMAT prep provider. The detailed video lectures and crisp summary help understand the concepts very well especially sentence correction. It segregates the topics efficiently and in small chunks which is very helpful in understanding difficult concepts. The examples in each section are to the point and bring out the essential focus point of the topic. The questionnaire after every topic helps you find your weak points in particular concepts. Also the detailed answer and approach is what of utmost significance.
My verbal was very poor the first time i gave GMAT. After taking e-gmat verbal online course my score increased significantly from V24 to V37. This increase is the major reason for my success at GMAT. I would definitely suggest Verbal Online as it would be very efficient in preparing your for GMAT Verbal in the limited timeframe.
I am using this course from almost a month and I can defintely tell you that it is the one of the best course availabe for native as well as non-native english speaker for improving the verbal score. In addition to this i found e-gmat verbal as much fasinating and helpful as verbal.
The course teaches you the verbal in such a methodical way, that gradually you will become good in all of the aspects.
The best thing i want to point out that at one place it explain you why you have selected the wrong answer choice but it also tell you why you haven't selected the correct answer choice.
I find it very fasinationg that how gradually you become good at verbal as well as quant in short amount of time that you will not know.
Just follow the the methodical way the egmat teaches you and you will definitly reach the 700 score border.
And of course this course is value for money because after trying so many courses available online finally i recommendit it most.
Kudos to e-gmat Team !!
I started by GMAT preparation a year back. I initially enrolled for classroom program at a bid time coaching firm. In my first attempt at GMAT, I scored a 640. I was pretty disappointed and immediately booked for another exam slot in one month. In my next attempt, I scored a 680. While I did better than in my previous attempt, the score was below my threshold. I did not have much issue in quant but my verbal score was not very good.
I was not sure on why I was not getting the score I needed. I did not book for another exam slot immediately as I figured that unless I change my preparation strategy, I might end up getting another score in 600s.
2-3 months passed and I did not focus on GMAT (I guess I wanted a break from the preparation). A friend of mine recommended e-GMAT to me. He had taken the verbal prep course and found it beneficial. I checked out the website and decided to enroll for the verbal part.
The SC portion in e-gmat was pretty good. e-gmat focuses on the concepts rather than just eliminating answers coz they don't sound good (I always eliminated "being", but then e-gmat taught me that there are cases when "being can be correct also).
The key to getting the SC correct is to master the concepts and keep applying it on the 700+ questions in 1 - 1.5 minutes.
Initially, I did not practice for CR as I figured that this section needs no preparation. A lot of ppl were talking about "pre-thinking" and I never really understood the fuss behind it. But my accuracy in CR was not high and I had to confront myself on it. I started focusing on "pre-thinking" concept. I would not say that I mastered it, but it definitely helped.
For RC, I focused on creating para summaries in order to derive the intention of the passage. I always ran out of time till I reached the 4th passage in the exam. I could only attempt the 4th passage if it was an easy topic and if it took me ~1 min to read it. Even with the new exam pattern, I still had to face 4 RC passages. That puts a lot of emphasis on decoding the passage quickly.
Overall, I would say that e-gmat was quite useful in my preparation. I would recommend it to anyone looking to improve his/her verbal score.
As a non-native speaker, and even though I had a very good level of grammar and comprehension of English, I found the Verbal section of the GMAT a bit hard to decode. I could not get the tricks behind the questions or get my mind around some of the grammar rules that for English speakers are usual, but for a non-native speaker are hard to understand.
But ever since I started the course at e-GMAT my ability to comprehend the types of questions and wire my brain accordingly improved so much I had a great boost in my confidence. It provides several options to customize the quizzes in the Scholarium and allows you to train the concepts and the right way to face the questions.
I did not get the score I want in the test, but certainly, I will by continuing my preparation with e-GMAT.
Best of luck!
Sometimes its not only the study resources, but also the coaching and mentoring that makes all the difference. Joining e-Gmat gave me that morale boost and a defined action plan to work on. Course structure is very well planned out. e-Gmat simply is the most extensive, well designed and comprehensive prep course in the GMAT test preparation industry. For me, having English as a second language was a bit of worry, but with the e-Gmat course structure, I understood the key concepts needed to take the GMAT without any inhibitions.
For the Quants part, they concentrate on the Concepts more than the shortcuts which I liked a lot. This approach gives you a confidence while taking tests that you can solve any problem. Work on Accuracy... Speed will automatically improve. This is e-Gmat's approach. It worked very well for me. I took their Quants course seriously followed all the concepts explained by them and got Q50 on the main GMAT... I did not follow any other material for Quants. This time, I am going to take the GMAT just to improve my verbal Score. I should have followed their verbal concepts before taking the first attempt itself. Now that I have almost completed their verbal concepts, I am feeling confident about my Verbal prep and hope to score good . Their Sentence Correction is specially designed for Non-Native English speakers. I bet nobody can match the quality of their Sentence Correction course.
The approaches to be taken to solve Critical Reasoning Questions were cleary categorized and explained with examples. The pre-thinking approach was the best thing I came across for CR strategies. Their Scholaranium is extensive. If you cover all the questions in Scholaranium and OG, you should be all SET.
They have a specially designed website which helped me navigate to the desired topics. They had a clear study plan outlined for me with chapters broken up into groups. A small test at the beginning and at the end helped me to measure my understanding level of that particular topic. The Scholaranium has around 700 questions in verbal and more than 1000 questions in quants. These questions are a mix of all difficulties, solving these helped me manage my time accordingly. The program also allows you to create your own custom tests, selecting the topics, the difficulty level, and the time per question. This enabled me to work selectively on topics I was weak on and to test myself on the hardest questions.
My preparation for GMAT started around April of 2017 and I have been practicing on and off for more than a few months. I mostly studied from the resources available in the internet and OG. My practice lacked momentum, and I lacked motivation. Preparing for GMAT became more of a hobby rather than an active goal. In December, I realized that I do not want to take the GMAT without assistance of any Prep company. I was enrolled with GMAT Club and the I signed in to one of the free sessions on SC and Number Properties by e-GMAT. I was glad to see the methodical approach prescribed by e-gmat, focusing more on ability than tips or tricks. The methodical approach struck a chord with me, and I purchased the Verbal+Quant online course. Needless to say, the e-gmat Verbal is top notch and has helped innumerable students achieve their verbal score. The best quality of e-gmat is that it motivates the students to have the faith in their approach, follow the process, and know their takt time. Master comprehension is a piece of gold, and reading slowly with 100% comprehension is the single best advice for conquering GMAT verbal section.
Not a lot is discussed about e-gmat quant course. e-gmat quant online course was the only course that I used for GMAT preparation (apart from OGs), and boy it helped me score 49 with minimum preparation. From an engineering background, I did not have a lot of difficulty in the Quant Section and I devoted a vast majority of my time to the Verbal section. Having said that, there were a quite a few concepts that I was not good at, and e-gmat quant course helped me tremendously with those concepts. I absolutely dreaded Algebra (inequations and absolute equations), and I was also not very comfortable with the rules of Number Properties and Coordinate Geometry. The best part of e-gmat quant course is that it is extremely thorough and covers the entire breadth of skills tested in GMAT quant section. The scholaranium questions are almost all highly difficult questions and prepares you for the GMAT battle. I highly recommend e-gmat quant course to all GMAT students looking for an online quant course. The beauty of GMAT quant is it's subtlety. It tests concepts and efficiency rather than speed. It needs extreme attention to detail. The e-gmat quant course has beautifully captured all these nuances and has delivered a course that truly prepares you for the toughest GMAT quant questions. Some quant questions (especially Word Problems) in scholaranium are too long to read and are really difficult to solve in 2-3 minutes. GMAT rarely has such long questions in the exam. However, the difficulty of the questions actually makes one stronger and more prepared for the actual GMAT battle, which can be really intense.
I will end this review with the statement that for all the students who are looking for a GMATPREP without a hole in their pocket, e-gmat verbal+quant online is the way to go. It is the most affordable and the most effective GMAT prep.
The first great think about EGMAT is the structure of the course. Every lesson is followed by a quizz that helps you build a solid ground from which to improve later. Then I teaches you how to reduce problems in a way that its relative easy to apply the knowledge from the classes.
The course teaches you very well how to attack problems in a structured maner. It has lots of practice with different levels of dificulty and they really put a lot of effort to explain the solution. Also the schoalarium platform has a practical diagnostic board that lets you see the topics in which you are good at or those where more practice is needed.
Another good feature is that the course also "forces" you to solve the Official guide. You might think at first that the course makes you spend more money than its actually needed but it is totaly worth it!
I took GMAT on 1st JAN 2018 and scored 700.What was most satisfying in the score report was verbal score of 37. I understand that V37 is not a great score, however improving from V17 (in my first mock test) to V37 is a refreshing change. After initially failing to increase my verbal score despite referring to multiple resources, i turned to E-GMAT verbal online course and that decision made a big difference .
Their course content is comprehensive and detailed. The best part about the course was their CR course which encourages people to pre-think. Initially you might feel that pre-thinking is time-consuming, however with pratice you can solve the CR questions under 1 minute.Pre-thinking in CR will definitely help to increase the accuracy and speed . SC section covers all the basics you need to know to conquer GMAT SC. scholaranium is a good collection of most up-to-date GMAT question with detailed explanations.
Overall, I really recommend GMAT verbal course to anyone who is struggling with GMAT Verbal
I was recommended the course by a friend post a debacle attempt (V32 Q49).
The videos are extremely helpful : 1. The videos help understand the concept in terms of what we are trying to achieve as we look at every question 2. Prethinking required 3. How we eliminate all the incorrect options.
The RC videos are the most helpful as they go beyond what the books can teach. I tried Manhattan and Kaplan for my first attempt but this course helps internalise all the concepts. As you practise different questions in the scholaranium (question bank with tonnes of good questions), they become inherent in your application.
Thumbs up to e-GMAT.
