I gave my first GMAT in Dec16 and scored 620 with a verbal score od 24 which was very disappointing. After asking my seniors, I got the advice of enrolling for E-gmat verbal online course. Verbal Scholaranium was a part of this course fortunately.
The verbal Scholaranium is a tool which lets you customize your tests in terms of type of question (SC/CR/RC), number of questions and the difficulty level of questions.
After I was confident with my verbal prep, I started using Verbal Scholaranium and I realized I still need to improve in some areas.
You can have mix of everything (type, number of Qs and difficulty) or totally specific ( e.g. 30 SC hard questions).
The database of the questions is huge and they do not get repeated. In fact they have a separate option if we want to repeat the questions.
After practicing extensively on scholaranium, I gave my GMAT in Aug 17 and scored 94 percentile (V41).
I believe it's a very good test for those who are getting consistent bad scores in verbal.
e-GMAT Verbal Scholaranium is one of the best test for practicing and improving Verbal ability. It has two types of Test: Ability Tests and Custom Quiz. Ability Tests is a timed tests which has a mix of questions from all level of questions while Custom Quiz, as the names suggests, is a customisable testing type.
The quality of questions in e-GMAT Verbal Scholaranium is very good and the best part is that the explanation of all the questions is consistent with that of GMAT Verbal Online course.
Custom Quiz is unique in its own way as it allows you to even select the sub-topics from each of RC, SC & CR. So, for e.g., if you want to practice only Verbs in SC, then you can select the same in Custom Quiz and practice it. This is very helpful as it lets you to focus on your weaker section more.
I definitely recommend e-GMAT Verbal Scholaranium to everyone as it has really helped me in improving my score.
All the Best!!
This is an excellent instrument to improve your quant skills. The tasks are challenging and really hard. I would assume that the tasks are of a 700+ level. I was using it mainly for polishing my skills after completion of general course and using OG. It is very structured and very convenient if one wants to understand where is the weakest spots in his/her preparation. You could track your performance with the detailed break down by different types of skills required. My abilities have improved substantially (at least 5 points on a quant section). I would advise to go through e-GMAT quant preparation and then practice with Scholaranium.
I got an exclusive 20 day trial of e-GMAT's Quant Scholaranium platform and I had the opportunity of solving nearly 170 of the 300 quant word problems. After solving more than a 100 questions, I was hooked! The questions varying in difficulty from Easy to Very Hard, allowed me to make my own customized quizzes. Not only can you decide the time limit but also the number of questions and their difficulty level. Furthermore, you can even select the sub type of the questions for each given Quant section which is a brilliant feature. This was extremely helpful in the areas where I needed improvement. Once you are done with a quiz you get a dynamic ability report which tells you which are your weak and strong areas respectively. The Quant Scholaranium helped me augment my quantitative skills and was a major factor in my decision to upgrade to the full online quant course (which I got for a special offer of just 100 bucks!). The video tutorials along with the quant quizzes have brought my ability up from a 55% to nearly a 90%! I feel much more confident for my upcoming GMAT exam which is in 3 weeks.
I have also exhausted all the free trial Verbal Scholaranium questions (nearly 130 in number) and I have to say some of the RC and CR questions were brilliant. I realized some weak areas for which I took special care and now I am in a better place with my verbal ability. All in all, the Scholaranium is a highly detailed and meticulously designed tool.
If I had to rate it I would rate Quant Scholaranium a 10/10 and the Verbal Scholaranium a 9/10! Minus 1 for the Verbal platform just because I needed more free practice questions :D
The tests contain:
1. Question made by E-GMAT
2. E-GMAT explanations of their questions + possibility to ask questions about the explanations
3. Basic analytics (statistics on different topics, difficulty levels)
4. Possibility to do custom tests (by topic/difficulty)
I can't compare quality of questions made by E-Gmat to that of other companies. But I can compare these tests to official questions. These questions are a bit different from official.
Also, the explanations could be deeper.
Nevertheless, these test provide additional training and are valuable as a supplement to the EGMAT course.\
The scholarium contains 700 questions. You could add bookmarks to the questions and return later to the bookmarks,
I had the opportunity to access the complete Quant Scholaranium on the e-GMAT platform while preparing for my GMAT exam very recently and it was thoroughly useful for all my quant preparation purposes. I had been working for a few years and i was completely cutoff from academics for the entire length of my professional career. So it was overwhelming for me to even think about preparing for any competitive exams. Quant was a relatively stronger suit for me since i was working in the analytics industry and the quant Scholaranium helped me ease into the preparation process with lots of different timing and mix of questions options that were available there. The thorough explanations along with almost real time answers to any doubts i had by the experts at e-gmat really helped in building my concepts and dispel any doubts regarding theory or process of solving a problem that i had. The frequent webinars on selected important topics also served to highlight the kind and level of questions that can be expected on the paper and the best ways to solve them. Using all these tools i finally managed to score a 50 on the quant section with about two months of preparation. Thanks e-gmat and thanks Rajat.
When I began studying for the GMAT, the quants section was pretty easy for me, but I was in desperate need of help for the Verbal section. At first, I was skeptical of signing up for any course, so i consulted with some of my friends who took the test couple months back, aggregated data from around the web, and decided to go for e-GMAT. They have really made the course easy-to-understand with a very smooth transition from one module to another.
The best thing i loved about the e-GMAT course was the Scholaranium. Undoubtedly the level of questions were well distributed, with more or less equal stress on all the modules. And within days, i was able to see a good progress in my mocks with approx +5 questions in Verbal. Undoubtedly they have one of the best collection of questions available and the user-friendly dashboard helped a lot to focus on my weakness. Overall, a great source to push the Verbal score.
My verbal score is V34. I used the Scholaranium platform only to take some quizzes because i didnt have enough time to practise harder. The verbal scholaranium is a great place to practise and analyze your self. Its a great to tool to diagnose your strengths and weaknesses. I think it's the only platform out there to give such detailed information of your sectional performance for every question type (difficulty level, average time for each level..and many more..) . You can use this tool if you had the Egmat course (the best combination ) or even if you used another course and you now want to diagnose or practise. Their explanations are very detailed and after each question you will be 100 % sure why a choice is right or wrong and this certainty is not provided by any other product or team. Their questions are exam style and they are designed to imitate the real test. They wont take you far from what the gmat asks. If fact, they must have been based on similar templates. The egmat team has used the OG to see what is tested and then made sure their students know what is needed to be learnt. All in all, great product, very good and detailed work use it dillignetly to receive a high score.
It is a very good product in terms it gives the flexibility to make the choice of the topic as well as difficulty level of the questions. The analytics part in helping understand ones weakness over a period of questions helped in improving the skill level.
The online solution help was also helpful and e-gmat instructors responded quickly to clear the doubts.
In the english section RC technique of getting immersed in the passage helped a lot and felt SC techniques were the best way to attack the SC section.
As it was online so it helped in terms of solving the questions the gmat way on a screen rather on paper which really gives the scholaranium the edge over other.
The way the scholaranium is presented in the terms of giving the option to choose time, etc and solutions to clear the doubts helped maintain the consistency to grasp the skill.
Also the aspect that there were video solutions for difficult questions helped a lot.
In all it helped in improving accuracy for SC ,RC part and dealing with tough questions in maths.
The Verbal Scholaranium is a great resource offered by e-GMAT. It helps me to thoroughly study each verbal topics in the courses and to practice in test conditions. Dashboard and Skill Data are very useful in pointing out which topics I need to work on to increase scores. For someone who doesn't have lots of time, I think using Scholaranium to get more practice with his/her weak topic is a must to increase the verbal score. The platform is user-friendly and motivates students to keep working on questions.
SC is very good (a cliche as people already mention this a lot) as it has practice covering essential and advanced grammar points needed for GMAT.
CR is ok. I still got some questions whose explanation doesn't persuade me as the ones in OG. However, Scholaranium questions are more advanced than the ones in OG.
RC is good. I like to do 2 paragraphs per day just to keep me on track of solving RC with ease.
Thanks!
