Excellent Prep for Compressed or Extended Timeline

Strengths:

Phenomenal product for improving quantitative skills in anticipation of the exam. Comprehensive review of grammar and sentence structure to assist with verbal exam.

Would make the product better:

Disperse modules between practice exam periods.

Target Test Prep enabled me to overcome a compressed preparation timeline and score adequately enough to gain admittance to a Top 25 Program. Through comprehensive lessons on all quantitative topics coupled with relevant examples, Target Test Prep ensured there were no surprises in terms of math problem formatting on test day. The practice exams simulated the live test environment in a way that made pacing simple and enabled effective troubleshooting methods to be developed. The comprehensive approach to teaching grammar assisted greatly with troubleshooting sentence structure problems. The program is scalable and thus supports intensive preparation on a shorter timeline if necessary while also facilitating gradual preparation for an exam more than 3 months in the future.

Best GMAT Prep I Used

Strengths:

TTP strengths are a regimented study plan designed for a learner's specific goals, time constraints, and background, a massive test bank with in-depth video and written descriptions, and a learning environment that emulates that of the actual test.

Would make the product better:

TTP is great as is, but an addition that I would have found useful is an integrated TTP-specific forums page where students could interact and learn from each other.

TTP is an amazing program. It provides guidance not only on which subjects to study but also on how to study these subjects. Before using TTP, I was misguided on the level of proficiency I needed to achieve my desired score. I was unsure of my study plan and its effectiveness, and this uncertainty led me to doubt myself even though I was studying diligently. Having a tailored plan from the TTP experts gave me confidence that I was on the path to success.

TTP includes everything from easy-to-follow instruction and question breakdowns to non-content related prep, such as how to address test anxiety and how to think about question timing. I used other prep materials in the past, but TTP by far was the most effective for me.

TTP Flexible Prep Review

Strengths:

- Goes into incredible detail on every sub-section of the test
- Good amount of practice questions for each specific topic and at varying difficulties
- Organized so you are easily able to identify where you need to improve

Would make the product better:

Maybe more practice problems - I found that I was doing the custom practice questions but they were repeats from the end of section tests in the study plan. Maybe I was using it incorrectly though - good supplemental material in my experience was the free official GMAT questions that come with the free practice tests #1 and #2. Can also purchase for ~$30 additional practice problems (#1 and #2).

Overall I thought TTP was an awesome resource to help get me over the hump in achieving my target GMAT score. With its immense detail into every topic, I was able to identify WHERE I was lacking in knowledge/skill, and was able to drill these areas until I felt more comfortable.
In my experience, I had to skip around as I only had a few weeks until my test date when I started using TTP, but it still worked for me but I had to put in long hours each day. If you are more patient/take more time (ex: a few months) and go through the study plan in full, you will definitely get even more out of the course and achieve your desired score.

660 to 710 using TTP

Strengths:

- very responsive community
- extremely detailed program
- easy to follow layout and keeps reader hooked with bite size lessons
- relatively affordable

Would make the product better:

The biggest improvement I would suggest is the ability to further customize tests within the program.

I first took on the approach of only using the OG book to study for the GMAT and scored a 660 after months of studying. So, I decided to start TTP and the way they lay out the lessons finally enabled me to sit down and consume the concepts, which is especially important for people who struggle with a short attention span. After a few months of TTP, my score increased from a 660 to 710 which is right in the middle of the range that I had chose in my TTP study plan. Another major upside of this program is the error log, I constantly went back to this log to master the concepts that I was weak at.

From 570 to 740 with TTP

Strengths:

Excellent breadth of content that covers everything you need to know for a successful GMAT

Would make the product better:

It would be nice to see them continue adding videos for solutions to the practice quiz problems.

At first, I was skeptical about going with Target Test Prep since it is a bit more expensive than other highly rated GMAT prep services out there. However, it was 100% worth the price. I could not have risen my score from 570 to 740 without TTP’s prep plan.

The pacing of the lessons is perfect, with sample questions thrown into the lessons to make sure concepts are sticking. The sample questions all have video explanations from Scott, who walks you through the problems slowly and clearly. I never had trouble picking up on more difficult concepts after following Scott’s solution videos.

Another thing I really loved about TTP was the test strategy sections they included. Learning about how to approach the test with proper preparation and strategy was just as important as all of the quant and verbal concepts that TTP taught me.

Strengths:

The level of comprehensiveness for the lessons for both the quant, verbal, and DI sections and the number of available practice questions are just amazing. The lessons are designed that allow maximum flexibility for each candidate and focus on what we need to learn and improve on. The 5000+ question bank provides limitless practice for individuals who are keen to improve their score

I started using TTP after self-studying for 1 month, after only scoring 615 on the first mock exam, I realized that I needed some sort of tutoring/lesson to help me get to my destination. I learned about TTP through a YouTuber who has used it before, and I initially trialed it for 5 days. Since signing up, I could stop myself from staying on the platform all day with the comprehensive lessons and limitless number of practice questions. After 5 weeks of immersing myself in TTP for a total of 175 hours, I received 715 on my first attempt at the GMAT Focus Edition (100% Quant, 79% Verbal, 98% DI). I am truly grateful for this platform and the awesome work done by Scott and his team, and I would recommend TTP to anyone who is looking to take the GMAT exam

Strengths:

The course is user-friendly, allowing the students to easily understand the whole process and how to follow through with it. TTP provides deep insights and recommendations on how to tackle every detail of the GMAT questions. It gave me the structure/foundations to prepare myself for the GMAT exam. I achieved a 710 grade, but I truly felt TTP prepared me to do better than that and that I could have surpassed that grade had I taken the exam again.
I cannot think of any improvements to this course. It maximizes the efficiency of your time spent studying.

770 after 120 hours of studying with TTP

So as the title suggests, yesterday I scored a 770 overall (51 Quant and 44 Verbal) after prepping for 120 hours. I started prepping last October (pretty late for B School applications) and went on reddit to see what resources successful people had used. I saw several posts of scores in the 760-790 range from people using Target Test Prep, and thought “good enough for me”.

I started and quickly learned an essential truth: knowing the material isn’t enough. Everyone on this site is smart enough that, given 10 minutes per question, you could probably solve the problem. You have 2 minutes instead, 30 questions in a row. You need to have strategies for each of these questions. You need to drill these questions and your weak areas consistently. I’m convinced that I wouldn’t have scored anywhere nearly as well with a live course or a book, because where TTP really worked best was the strategy guides for specific problems and the additional bells and whistles to ingrain the strategy into your head.

When you first start, the site will auto generate a calendar with “To Dos” based off your preferences. I didn’t always follow this calendar, but it was really helpful to have a baseline of “this is where I should be at right now” or “I need this many tasks done today (even if they’re not the recommended tasks)”. After most individual lessons (about a page) there is a mini 3-8 question comprehension quiz to test how well you really get what you’re reading as well as a couple sample questions. The best part about these questions is right away you get the answer and detailed explanations for each choice. I don’t have to flip to the back of the book every single time like I did with my ACT study guide, and I don’t have to listen to a lecturer waste my time explaining why a certain choice was wrong when it was obvious to me. 120 hours of active study time is a lot, and staying engaged during that time is important. There’s no question I was maximizing the amount of learning I was doing in my limited time.

The custom test generator was one of the best features for me. You can make custom exams of any length, with any combination of chapter material in difficulty. If I wanted to drill hard Geometry questions and easy + medium Parallelism questions, I could do that. There is a LOT more, but those were the features I found myself appreciating the most. Features like error trackers and flash cards I probably would have used more but honestly I got a score I was happy with a lot sooner than I was expecting.

3 days ago I took my only practice exam and scored a 770 (50 Quant, 45 Verbal), took a last minute tutoring session on Quantitative through TTP, and scored a 770 on the official exam yesterday. The tutoring session was particularly helpful because the practice tests don’t give an answer breakdown like TTP does, and my tutor quickly got me up to speed on the questions I missed. He also had similar questions on deck to solidify my understanding of those types of problems.

I can’t imagine doing another course, book, class, etc. and achieving better results, especially in that amount of time. I highly recommend Target Test Prep, and you can try it out for $1 to see if that format is right for you.

I was not paid to write this, I’m just very satisfied with my experience and results and was encouraged to post about my experience here.

Strengths:

Extensive material that covers almost all possible topics. Great explanations.

Would make the product better:

The time allocate for quant tests + review in the study plan is often unrealistic in my opinion. It often took me double the time, messing up the schedule.

This course is really solid and worth the money. It covers a ton of topics with plenty of materials. The explanations are clear and make things easy to understand. Further, it covers a lot of great tips and tricks, meaning that you won't need any other materials (except for official mock exams) to study for your GMAT. The tool allows you to pick a score range you want to achieve and the automatically created schedule is contains everything you need to know. It's a good deal if you're looking for a course that's informative without being over-the-top.

I can definitely recommend it!
