I purchased the full e-GMAT online course 6 months ago, and I found it really helpful in my preparation. I highly recommend it for non-native speakers as it describes in details all the topics and questions types, as well as the common traps which was really useful, especially in CR and SC.
The course is a good value for its price as there are around 12 live sessions that describe each section in detail, along with the course videos which are an extra added value to the course.
I would highly recommend it for anyone who is struggling with the verbal section.

I took the GMAT on April 12, 2013. My score was a 580. eGMAT Verbal Live Prep helped me improve 100 points till now. The instructors Shraddha,Payal, Rajat are awesome. It's difficult to keep someone captivated for three hours online, but they do. They really emphasize getting rid of silly mistakes, thinking critically, and engaging their students one on one through chat.

The methodology adopted is completely different here. Here, I learned the actual way to crack the questions, i.e. CR questions through Prethinking. Prethinking is a very useful tool, adopting makes the answer jumping out.

The eGMAT 3 steps process which they teach is working wonderful while cracking questions.
I have one more month for my D-day and strictly following Rajat’s strategy session 2 on how to fine tune your preparation in the last 1 month before GMAT.
My present improvement in score 26V to 34V & hoping to reach upto 40V.

I highly recommend e-GMAT Verbal Live Prep. and I highly recommend taking the course.

I would like to extend my profound gratitude towards the entire e-GMAT team for their support and guidance during my GMAT preparation so far.

I am using VLP since past few months and have observed a remarkable improvement both in my confidence to attempt verbal questions and in my accuracy. Some of the most striking advantages that I have experienced while using this course are:

[1] Process/Strategy:

Earlier my strategy for verbal Qs was to solve them based on my 'gut feeling' , shortcuts and 'tuned ear' (for SC). This was clearly a flawed approach and was leading me nowhere. VLP, on the other hand, has now equipped me with a well defined process to approach each question in the verbal section. In addition to improving my accuracy and speed it has taken my confidence to another level. And since I feel more confident while attempting each question it helps me remain more calm and focused during mocks.

[2] Live Session - to learn from others' mistakes

It happens a lot of times that one does not come across certain gaps in his/her understanding and application of the concepts until he/she sees others doing such mistakes. The live session takes care of this aspect of GMAT verbal preparation. I have learned a lot from others' mistakes and doubts and has immensely helped me in plugging loopholes in my understanding of the concepts.

We (non natives) know that verbal is usually our Achilles heel and we need to travel an extra mile to match up with the tough competition out there. So I would strongly recommend VLP to all those non-natives who are really serious about scoring high on GMAT.

All the best for your preparation.

Hi All,

I am about to retake the GMAT after getting 540 twice. I have taken eGMAT Live prep course and have gotten fabulous support from the eGMAT team for my queries and extension of the course as I was held up multiple times due to office pressure...

The course is awesome, SC being my weakest areas, was impacted the most in my previous attempts, but with the structured approach followed by eGMAT's 3-step process, even though I had initial hiccups getting used to the process. Even though I have not mastered it ...I am in a far better position than before.

The other components of the Verbal Live prep course are all very very good. I simply followed a structured process which can be easily understood by anybody. The main advantage is that you can access it anytime and any number of times as long as your subscription is valid.

Shall come back soon with my GMAT Score.

I am in the middle of my GMAT prep and assure you that the verbal live prep course offers some of the best resources for GMAT verbal section. The course is designed to provide a good mix of conceptual understanding coupled with GMAT-level practice questions. The teaching methodology involves self study of basic concepts and regular practice throughout the week followed by live classes over the weekends to strengthen all concepts and applications. Even though there are various students attending the online class from different parts of the world, none of the questions asked remain unanswered. The team also provides a daily timetable that help you track progress and in case of an absence there are multiple ways to make up.

It was the final quarter of last year when I seriously considered pursuing an MBA and, as a first step, I started preparing for the GMAT. I got help from the well-known GMAT books. However, within a few days, I understood that I needed some external help, especially in the verbal section, to perform well on this test. I came to know about e-GMAT courses while browsing through the net and I started with its free sessions. These sessions were so well crafted that they impressed me a lot and I decided to register myself in its paid courses. As per e-GMAT's instructions, I began with its Sentence Correction section - a module which is so well designed that if someone sincerely studies the Articles, Concept Files and Pratice quizzes in it, as well as follows the study plan supplied by e-GMAT, he/she is bound to do well on the GMAT SC section. The knowledge of SC helps immensely in the other sections - Criticl Reasoning and Reading Comprehension - as well because one can easily understand the argument structure in CR and complex passages in RC, using the basic Sentence Structure lessons learnt in the SC course. Very recently I have upgraded my course to Verbal Live, where the e-GMAT instructors take live sessions and clarify most of the doubts during or after these sessions. e-GMAT's internal forum is another place where e-GMAT students are allowed to post their questions/queries which are promptly answered by the instructors. Though English is not my mother-tongue, I started learning English from childhood as a part of my regular curriculum. Even after that when I started GMAT preparation, I realized that knowing the English language very well doesn't guarantee a good score on GMAT. One needs to know the things that are frequently tested on GMAT and accordingly prepare strategically for doing well in this test. This is where I found e-GMAT really helpful, even to the native speakers, as it actually guides its students on the tactics and strategies of this time-bound test.

I took the GMAT on December 2, 2012, and scored 610(44Q, 30V). I realized that if I were going to retake the GMAT, I would need to boost my quant score but would have to work very hard on verbal. During my preparation before taking the GMAT, I was stuck between V28-V30 and didn't know how to improve my verbal score. I did my research online and after reviewing trial files I came to the conclusion that e-GMAT's VLP was the best course available. Contents in VLP have been classified and prepared very meticulously.

SC:
Initially, I didn't get my desired results from e-GMAT's 3-step process on SC questions but persisted for a while and I started to improve my accuracy. After level 2, my accuracy was 70% and after level 3 my accuracy is 85%. This is an amazing improvement for me - a real confidence booster. You can revisit the concepts and quizzes as many times as you want.

CR:
Before coming to e-GMAT, I didn't follow a process to attack a CR question and hence couldn't improve CR much. After e-GMAT's CR course, my accuracy has increased to 70% from 50%. I would like to mention that their Inference and Prethinking sessions are wonderful. Both the sessions help you to align your thinking on the right path for your further CR journey.
Improvement: VLP's CR live sessions are not as elaborate as SC sessions are. E.g. In CR-Inference session, instructors should answer math-based questions more thoroughly as many students don't get how to relate equations/calculations with the stimulus.

RC:
I have attended e-GMAT's RC live sessions and started attempting OG-13 RCs. I can see my accuracy is increasing after every 8-10 passages. If I get inference question incorrect in 4-5 passages, I revisit the concept and session recordings. This approach has helped me to improve my accuracy to 65% from 50%.

If one is diligent and can use e-GMAT's solutions, recordings, forums, and quizzes judiciously, he/she will definitely improve the verbal score to a desired level. I will definitely recommend VLP course to all non-natives.

I have surely gained confidence in verbal and am going to take the GMAT in a month. Wish me luck. :)

I wrote the GMAT on 16th of July and scored a 640 QA 48 V30.

I decided to focus on VA completely. After going through a lot of good reviews, I joined the e-GMAT verbal live prep course with their 4 point improvement guarantee.

The e-GMAT adopts unique strategies to approach SC,CR and RC type questions. My rating of their courses will be SC=CR>RC

The SC course is awesome. The number of questions which can be solved correctly by understanding the meaning of the sentence is inspiring. MEANING+IDENTIFY ERRORS+ELIMINATION is the forte of the SC course.

Same goes with CR. Pre-thinking is another concept which has helped me improve in CR .The course emphasizes the importance of understanding the logical structure and how the conclusion is reached upon and then prethinking before going to the answer choices. This saves a lot of time indeed.

I haven't gone through the RC course completely but it is in similar lines to RC - ie understanding of passage/authors tone/paragraph summary before going to questions.

I have been able to drastically improve my SC scores in mocks after going through the course.

SC skills are helpful in CR and RC and hence overall VA score improvement.

The live sessions are also very comprehensive and analytical.

I would like to recommend the course to anyone who is not able to improve his score in VA from 27-30 to 34-36 or even more.

I will take my GMAT in the next 1-2 months and am hoping to apply the techniques I learned in here...!

I’m writing this review to thank the e-gmat team for their great effort. Everyone makes our lives easy to get top score in verbal section. In the same way, I like to share my experience that may help students to shorten when studying GMAT verbal.

I enrolled in Egypt in a classroom course that was disappointing. I rarely understand the CR or solve SC correctly. Through studying each gmat course in gmat club, I found e-gmat content which I was rich. I decide to go for “verbal life prep” to get more life practice and answer my question. There was a good deal for $299 for 6 months. As soon as I registered, I was provided with password to access the website. The program comes with mock tests.

E-gmat organizes the study through plans and calendar for live sessions. IF you miss one, you do not need to panic because you can listen to the recording or simple attend next month.

For sentence correction experience
• Follow e-gmat process. This helped me to understand some of my errors.
• Stick to the level and do not jump.
• Always study the concept even you feel that you know it.
• Review the concept files clearly.
• Solve application files.
• Solve OG13 sentences. I can mark progress
• Attend live sessions especially, parallelism & modifiers.
• There are extra trainings in UG section.

For Critical reasoning experience
• Focus on the “Conclusion and premises” 3 concepts files.
• Study each concept file and its application and dissect
the examples to know how to solve it.
• Give yourself time and do not be rush.
• Pre-thinking is crucial to CR process.

For Reading comprehension experience
• it is easy. I had good experience from my TOEFL exam

All what I need to say is that you need to start engaging with strong source rather than get trapped in other sources that won’t help you.

I chose e-GMAT at an early stage of preparation and I am glad I did so. The course is very comprehensive and it sticks to a single “process”. What I like about the course is that it keeps things simple and there is no need to memorize rules.

The e-GMAT process (3-step in SC, Prethinking in CR, and Reading Strategies in RC) is extremely useful under the exam conditions. It shows that the PROCESS NEVER FAILS even when we are under pressure.

The Live sessions are fantastic – they start from where the Concept Files have ended and take you to that 750+ level.

The workshops are real eye openers – they show you where you are lagging and help you to achieve your dream score.

The faculty is of top quality and always ready to help you. Whenever I had a doubt I could get it cleared by e-GMAT experts. The replies were well researched and thoroughly explained.

Overall, I owe a lot to e-GMAT.
