I found Magoosh Verbal video lessons a great complement to Manhattan Verbal guides; especially for SC. Let me explain how it works. If you study a lesson or strategy in a book, it may not stick to your mind. But when you study a concept and few days later you face the same concept on practice problems, and then a week later watch a video lesson on the same concept, it would probably remain in your memory for long time. Magoosh video lessons; especially SC ones; teach you new concepts or deepen your understanding of newly learned concepts.
In addition, Magoosh offers a "Help" feature that you I found very helpful during my studies. You could simply email Magoosh experts and ask them anything. They also have video explanations for OG problems.
Nevertheless, I do not like their AWA section. They could have done much better on this section.
In sum, If you are a dedicated test-taker and willing to spend 2 to 3 months studying GMAT, I highly suggest purchasing Magoosh products. You have to listen to them and follow their approach.
Prior to Magoosh, I took my first diagnostic test using the GMAT Prep software and scored 580 (Q39,V30). I honestly felt defeated because I knew I needed at least a 700+ for the top B-schools. I decided to purchase Magoosh because it was reasonable prized at $179 in comparison to the other courses in the market.
Magoosh was a REALLY good way to take a step back and relearn everything I thought I knew about Quant. Mike's explanations were really helpful in learning the efficient way to solve math problems. The quant practice questions were really good and had detailed solutions. My quant score improved from Q39 to Q46 in my practice tests.
However, I didn't really enjoy the verbal section of the platform. The verbal was too rule based and did not emphasize on examples.
Overall, I will recommend Magoosh for quant.
After finishing my undergraduate degree in business, I started preparing for the GMAT. My friends have used Magoosh for other exams, such as GRE and TOEFL, and they all have received positive results from the materials. Therefore, I decided to give it a try.
Though I was fresh out from university, I still went through the entire verbal and quant course and did 90% of the practice questions, along with OGs and Manhattan Prep books. However, the questions appeared on the exam were at least 10 times more difficult than the ones from Magoosh.
Magoosh is an amazing platform if you are out of school for a couple of years and have forgotten everything about maths, yet it is not an exam oriented platform. Magoosh could be used to refresh your memories, but it should never be used by itself.
Hi, thanks for your feedback on it. I have heard that Manhattan was very good for high scores, though you used both Manhattan and Magoosh, how would you describe the resource difference ?
Magoosh verbal study course is really great including all videos. The questions are carefully selected which gives you feel of real gmat test. Video explanations are great. and explanation is good especially numbers . Practise tests can be improved by analysing data and giving tips where most improvement is needed. Also topic wise performance analysis should be done as in manhattan prep course. Team pays attention to students and replies promptly.also they were generous enought to extend my membership.idiom flashcards znd resources are really helpful. Ithink magoosh should also introduce awa questions which can be checked. Also no of ir questions available for practice should be increased.
I tried some practice questions that came with a Princeton Review book and also tried the trial from the economist. Both were horribly slow for the practice I wanted and honestly not good practice.
Magoosh was by far the best comparison to what the actual GMAT felt like. The videos on magoosh really helped me think through the actual problems and come up with actual strategies to improve on the problem types of was weak on. I probably went through some of the questions too quickly, but the video explanations were really good and the overall experience was highly enjoyable. Magoosh was good enough that I almost miss studying for the GMAT (almost).

The course is very well structured and concise. Pay attention to the video explanations though, they'll be the most important part of the module. The tricks in maths section are applaudable, the dual explanations makes you find the faster approach, little tips like take sometime to understand the questions and find the best approach(for me it was a good 30secs per question) also contributed to my quant improvement.
I was initially skeptical of the verbal section as the verbal lessons seemed a lot of work and seemed too much in depth than needed.I was not hopeful of a 700+ score i made will to do every single question, saw every lesson and reviewed video explanations of every incorrect answer, the criteria to be eligible for the full refund (50 point improvement scheme). Well, this turned out to be a blessing. The quality of the material is very well reflected in my score.
More than that, the team was very cooperative, they even extended my subscription upon request.
Hence,i highly recommend this course.
Hi, this course is really wonderful. The video lessons were very helpful. All the GMAT topics were covered wonderfully! Also the OG video solution for maths came in handy.
The practice questions helped me a lot in finding out my weak areas. At the end of each session, it also suggested me some video lessons that helped me improving specific areas.
Another thing that really impressed me was their prompt response to my queries, be it related to specific questions or GMAT as a whole.
Magoosh played a very important role in my GMAT preparation.
I would certainly recommend this course to everyone, not just GMAT, but also for GRE. Wish you good luck for future endeavours and do join Magoosh. :)

One of the best features of Magoosh courses is the vast collection of high-quality GMAT-like questions. In fact, there were so many that for days, I just practised the questions without even reviewing the video explanations. However, I got an email from Magoosh that I needed to look into the amazing videos as well. The instructors apparently care for the students. The video explanations are lucid. Whether you require to brush up the verbal and quant concepts or you need to polish your already-built skills, Magoosh caters to everyone's need. The course also provides two mock exams. The course analytics is great as well, and as you progress, it predicts the GMAT score for you. Overall, I am very satisfied with this course and highly recommend it to others.
Since I'm a novice at GMAT, I took the course from magoosh premium after searched what online course that can help me to prepare for gmat exam. My target is pass 500 score mark in only one month.
I followed its one month guide, study both quant and verbal videos everyday, and do practice problem from its question banks and official guide. As a result, I can't keep up the study plan because I have a full time job and only have 2 hours on weekdays and 6 hours on weekends to study, while the study plan suggest that you should have 5 to 6 hours a day to study. So I changed the plan to focus only solving its question banks.
The quant lessons is very good, while the verbal lessons is not a game changer especially if you are a non native. The only drawback from the video lessons (especially verbal) is it use a plain text format for the presentation, so if you are a visual learner you are not gonna like the lessons.
Its question banks is top notch because its give you a video explanation on every questions (there are aprox 800-900 question). The explanation on quant is straight forward, it will clear your doubt and often a very hard questions can be solved by simple way. On the other hand, the video explanations on verbal question is not good as the quant's, especially in CR.
In the end, at the exam I scored 440, which is a very disappointing score.
Conclussion: few thing that I like from the magoosh is its quant lessons and its questions bank. If you are a non native who want to improve verbal, try something else.
My first brush with Magoosh came when I watched one of their 'GMAT Tuesdays' verbal videos on Youtube. Being a non-native speaker, I was instantly impressed with their simple deconstruction of complex looking grammar rules. By the time I finished all their videos in the next few days, I knew that Magoosh is my savior.
And when I saw unbelievable discounts on their course via GMAT Club, I bought it instantly.
Although no. of questions in Magoosh Premium Course may appear insufficient when compared to other courses, each question of Magoosh is a gem. For an above average student like me this is big boon as one doesn't have to run through an unnecessary large no. of questions to learn a limited no. of concepts. While each question is designed to teach you a specific concept, the video solution ensures that you remember it on your test day.
I consider myself good at quant yet I was glad to see some very good quant questions along with some super quick tricks to solve complex word problems. This helped me score 50 in quant.
I consider it a must for every non-native speaker. Coupled with Magoosh GMAT Blog, Magoosh Premium Course helped me score 42 in verbal, boosting my score to 770 overall.
