I tried the e-GMAT course after having (or at least tried to) go through books.

e-GMAT courses - As a working professional, I found that the online resources are much better. I never thought I would say this, even after sitting in front of a computer for the better part of the day however they are much more tolerable on weekdays and one can easily spend 90 minutes on them. The egmat courses are really nice. Their SC meaning based approach does a much better job of tackling SC than MGMAT does. You retain much more as well. Prethinking and Bold Face in CR is very good too. For RC, this is the first real course that taught something. Overall, the live sessions compliment the leanings in the course very well.

In addition, I also looked at economist GMAT and Grockit. The both have a number of practice questions. Although the explanations in Economist GMAT were better, Grockit was free for me and complemented the e-GMAT course well.

One of the downside of online resources is that they don't work well on Tablets. Hence, you cant take them outside.

The best thing that I liked about this course is focus on fundamentals. It did not teach me tricks. After going through the course, I was able to solve most official questions easily. Moreover, I was confident of my answers in GMAT Prep question pack 1 - something which I was not after going through the MGMAT books.

When I started my preparation ,I was looking at different courses specifically for Verbal.
I found the e-Gmat course which is one of the good investment I have done for the preparation.
So far, I have used only SC course. Sentence correction course provides a an excellent approach to tackle the SC questions and the Instructor Shraddha is a fantastic.

Online SC course complemented with live sessions is THE BEST course. Breaking the sentences into smaller and logic groups sounds initially hard but it greatly helps in understanding the meaning and accuracy. I hope e-Gmat other courses will also be as good as SC. I am excited to start my RC sessions in coming weeks.

Anyone who is having a bit of trouble in understanding long and complex SC problems then go for e-Gmat course...!

I Joined the e-gmat Verbal Live Prep course few months ago. At that time i was really weak in the verbal SC and CR. This course really help me to improve my SC and CR. Now a days i am going through RC section.

I have a very busy schedule of work in my company, 10 to 12 hours, after that when i go to home i really don't want to read any thing, but this course is very visual and easy to understand. I scheduled my GMAT date on 22 April 2013. Now given some prep test and improved much in the verbal part..i really like to thanks to the e-gmat people for such a wonderful course.

I am almost done with the course, the SC and CR part is excellent.

I have purchased MGMAT in the past, I feel the e-gmat SC and CR strategy is bit different from MGMAT and better to understand. I read the MGMAT SC Guide thrice but still feel that i am missing some parts, but this course made my life easy.

I will give more details about my experience once i finished my exam...meanwhile i must say that if u are really weak in GMAT verbal, then try ur cent for this course...

Hello Guys,

I would like to share my opinion about the e-gmat course.

I bought the VERBAL LIVE PREP on Feb'13 and had 45 days to study before my GMAT test. On my first attempt I got 530 (Q39-V24) and I was really disappointed with my overall score, specially on verbal section. After doing all sections on E-gmat platform I could improve my score to 690(Q48-V37).

I'm from Brazil and the verbal section was really challenging to me because of difficult vocabulary and short timing to work on each question. It is not easy for a non-native speaker recognize the pattern used on GMAT verbal section and E-gmat platform help you on that. My learning sequence on E-Gmat platform was SC, RC, CR and Integrated Reasoning.

SC: The theory and examples used are very easy to understand and the way E-Gmat presents the content is very illustrative and facilitates memorization. It's is an excellent material. The only negative point is that they have questions solved for OG12th edition and since I bought the new OG13th edition this area was not so helpful to me since they don`t show the alternatives during the explanation.

CR: It is really great material that helps you to understand what the question wants you to recognize. After some time, when you read the passage, you start to recognize the type of question and to remember how the question look like. You can recognize a pattern among questions and improve speed and accuracy.

RC: It was the most difficult part to me. GMAT texts are very detailed and boring. When you start reading a passage, it is very easy to get lost in the middle and have to go back and read it again. In my point of view, there is no trick to get questions correct besides improve comprehension. I improved my comprehension skills watching E-gmat videos and solving many questions on Grockit website. I also spent a lot of time evaluating wrong answers.

IR: The concept videos are very good and give you a very good idea about different type of questions you can found on your GMAT test.

My overall review about e-gmat is very good and I strongly recommend it specially for non-native speakers. It will help you to improve the specific knowledge required on GMAT verbal section and you will not loose time reading many other materials.

It was clear that I needed to focus on Verbal. I read somewhere on this forum about a divide and rule strategy suggested by egmat. It made sense. I registered for their course and attended their live session to understand their approach in more detail. I looked up my previous mock test scores and realized that I needed to improve the most on my SC, and then CR. RC needed some improvement but not as much as CR. I devoted the next 2 weeks to improve SC; read the MGMAT SC again for the first 5 days and then did the eGMAT SC course for the remaining. Gave MGMAT mock (#3) and score 36 on verbal (12/15 SC, 8/14 CR, 8/12 RC). Was happy with my progress. Devoted the next 5 days to complete the egmat SC course. Then spent the next 10 days on CR (Powerscore and eGMAT) . Gave the mock test on 18th August and scored 39 (12/14 SC, 11/14 CR, 9/12 RC). Was happy to see that I was progressing. Decided to concentrate on RC for the next 10 days. Re-did OG 12 and Verbal review, looked for explanations on questions that I was not sure of. Reviewed my mistakes in the mock test. This time I scored 42, with very few mistakes (5 or 6 incorrect). I still had a couple of weeks before my exam. I revised my mistakes on the mock, the egmat course, certain sections of the MGMAT SC guide, and did OG(only the toughest problems) once again. I also spent some time on number properties to further improve my quant.

I have finished around 50% of the SC course from E-GMAT and here are my views so far. As a stand alone product it is quite a good resource for the price ( especially when bundled with RC, IR, CR and grockit) however for those like me that have covered the SC guide books (MGMAT or PS/Veritas etc) their may not be much of a stimulation as far as new material, or tactics concerned..In fact to expect such a thing will be unwise as most of the text books do a good job at teaching Grammar that the GMAT covers and so does the E-Gmat instructor... I would have liked some more GMAT like questions..Maybe give 10-15 questions per section instead of the usual 4-6 .. If you are all ready scoring around the 75th percentile, and are good in SC then the E-GMAT will not help you much. I was in that range, and most of the topics were revision for me. I started off wit the diagnostic test and scored a 86%. I decided to go ahead and continue my paid subscription for it seemed like a great revision resource, and i hated going back to the SC book that i have all ready covered 2-3 times.. Along the way, i was able to pin point areas of weaknesses in SC, which i would not have been able to do unless i took multiple CAT's.... Overall i think the SC course is great to start of with (Starting SC prep ) and not a bad revision tool for those that are scoring 70+ percent in the diagnostic and have covered prep material once..For those that do need a major push in SC i would recomend going over the basic grammar books, as it is unlikely that the E-GMAT course will offer anything new.

Overall, my rating would be 3 on 5..I would have liked more GMAT like practice questions for the price , or at least a practice question bank. I would also recomend their test makers to lay off fromthe WSJ and Mayan civilization articles as i would love to read about topics that are a bit more diverse (this is where the GMAT is super - at presenting topics in SC, CR and RC that are interesting to read )..
