Nisha Trivedi Reviews

Company: mbaMission

Nisha Trivedi earned her BA in communication from the University of Pennsylvania and her MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. A deep interest in understanding the consumer inspired her to initially pursue a career in marketing research, and after college, she held positions at Time Inc., Rosetta, and KPMG LLP in New York City. A desire to transition into brand management led Nisha to Ross, where she was an active member of the Marketing Club, organizing mock internship interviews for her peers during her first year and serving as the club’s vice-president of communications during her second year. After graduating with her MBA, Nisha worked for several years in brand management in San Francisco at Big Heart Pet Brands (now part of The J.M. Smucker Company) before joining mbaMission. She most enjoys creating brand positioning and crafting tailored messaging that speaks to consumers’ needs, which is a skill she applies in helping her clients “market” themselves to their dream MBA programs. Nisha also has a longstanding commitment to philanthropy—she has been a volunteer team leader for New York Cares and now sits on the board of directors of The Shanti Project, a San Francisco–based nonprofit that enhances the health, quality of life, and well-being of people with serious illnesses.

Fantastic Experience!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I cannot say enough positive things about working with Nisha and mbaMission - highly recommend to anyone seeking to gain admission to a top MBA program!

I wasn't initially planning to use an admissions consulting service, but I decided to give mbaMission's free consultation a try (who doesn't like free things?). After reading through all of the consultant bios, I chose to work with Nisha since her professional experience most closely aligned with my intended post-MBA career plans. After exchanging a couple of emails, I sent Nisha a copy of my resume for review -- while I was impressed with her responsiveness, I was still skeptical that I would get much out of our session. BOY WAS I WRONG! As it turns out, Nisha not only provided me with valuable tips and tricks, but she walso asked the right questions to help me better articulate my accomplishments. I knew within the first 15 minutes of my consultation that I wanted to continue working with Nisha throughout my application process.

I ended up purchasing an hourly package so that I could work with Nisha as I drafted my essays. For context, my essay drafts were in decent shape at the time we began working together, but Nisha really helped me get to the point where I was telling my own story in a unique and engaging way in each essay. I appreciated that Nisha did not try to "change" my story or put words in my mouth that would make my application inauthentic, albeit stronger; she provided insightful suggestions on how I could best articulate both my story and my goals.

Nisha also provided invaluable guidance on what each school was looking for in the essays in terms of the topics/themes to address. I probably would have ended up with very different (read: weaker) essays had we not had those conversations. I really appreciated Nisha's ability to provide strategic direction when it came to the content of the essays, as well as her attention to detail (e.g, grammer, word choice) when it came to proofreading my final drafts.

Additionally, I was very impressed with Nisha's quick turnaround time and the depth of her reviews -- she usually sent comments and suggestions within 24 hours of receiving a draft. We exchanged several drafts of each essay (average of 3 essays per school, I applied to 5 schools) in a relatively short time frame so that I could meet all of the RD1 deadlines. I was also very impressed (and pleased and thankful) that Nisha was able to clear her schedule ,with very little notice, to help me prep for my first interview (which came weeks before I was expecting to hear back). She walked me though a mock behavioral interview and then spent a significant amount of time debriefing my performance and giving me frameworks to make my responses stronger. I was able to apply those framworks to confidently answer every question thrown at me during my interview!

Ultimately, I gained admission to each of the MBA programs* I applied to w/significant scholarships. I have no doubt that Nisha played an integral role in strengthing my application and making it stand out.

Thank you, Nisha!!

*Applied to Tuck, Darden, Fuqua, Johnson, Stern

Pleasure To Work With!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

Nisha was a fantastic partner in the application process from start to finish. In our second virtual meeting, we talked through a questionnaire aimed at translating my best experiences into an attractive admissions story. Nisha was great at bringing the storyteller out of me. As I work in investment management, I needed a sounding board to determine which finance jargon to leave in and which to omit in my essays, resume, and interview prep. Nisha helped me strike this balance. I initially chose to work with Nisha because she herself had gained admission to my target school and she is intimately familiar with the program. I did not know what to expect working with an MBA consultant – this was an incredible experience from start to finish!

Mock Wharton group interview with Nisha

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

During the mock interview, Nisha walked us through every single step of the process, which made the real thing much less daunting! Her tips were clear and applicable for the real interview. She also takes time to provide everyone with personal feedback, and you've got time to ask her all your questions as well. The mock is a great way to test your strategies for the interview and see what works or doesn't work, as well as what can be improved. The group interview can be daunting, so this is a great way to lower your stress level on D-day!

Highly Recommend! Nisha is the Best!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

Nisha came highly recommended by many of my peers and mentors who went through MBA application cycles before me. As early as my initial consultation with her, I understood why. Nisha truly cares about her clients (shown by her continued follow-ups, even after our work together is done) and seeks to fully understand their careers and stories before diving into applications. She helped me with application strategy and essay review, helping me come to a much stronger story and allowing me to become much more confident with my applications. As a result, I was accepted to my top-choice MBA program.

I highly recommend working with her - she'll make sure you're sharing the best version of yourself with your schools!

Highly Recommend Nisha, Couldn't Have Asked for a Better Consultant!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

I got in touch with Nisha and mbaMission at the end of November to start working on applications for Round 2 deadlines. Despite how late in the game I was, Nisha wasted no time getting me up to speed. She supported me through brainstorming each of the schools we worked on, reaching out to recommenders, and getting everything submitted on time. She helped me bring out stories about my experience that I didn't even know I had. I didn't fully realize how intensive interviewing for schools would be, but Nisha was with me every step of the way through that process as well. I was fortunate to be accepted to multiple schools, and there is no way I would have made it through this process without Nisha's support. Not only did she make sure I was fully prepared for and satisfied with each step, but also she helped give me the confidence that I could be successful in the application process. I highly recommend her and know that she will be just as invested in your journey!

Nisha was incredible to work with- she helped me craft a cohesive story and highlight my experience in a way that I would not have thought of. Her comments were always clear and pushed my thinking forward, and she responded to my emails within 24 hours. She always had a positive demeanor and approached the work with a motivational attitude. As a candidate without a traditional business background, she helped me position my skills in a way that was favorable in the eyes of the admissions committee. Working with her also kept me on track and helped me finish my apps in a timely manner. I definitely recommend working with her!

Nothing short of Excellent!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

Wow, where do I begin! I decided to apply to business school at the tail end of Round 2, and was basically in a bind to find a consultant that was willing to work with me over the Christmas holiday to draft a fulsome application. A herculean task to say the least. I reached out to mbaMission, and Nisha came to the rescue. We started by laying out and agreeing to a timeline, and we stuck to it religiously! I cannot begin to talk about how fast and efficient she would review my documents, allowing me to make the most of the short time we had to craft the application. She also took on the task of steering my recommenders in the right direction, which, given the short amount of time they had to craft it, was a tasked many would shy away from. Not Nisha. Instead, she stayed in contact with my recommenders, making sure that their letters were in line with the story that I was trying to tell. Finally, though we were in a pressurized situation, I always felt relaxed when we would jump on the phone to go through my resume, essays, and other pertinent parts of the app. Nisha is a large reason that I got accepted to the only business school I applied for! Her work ethic is second to none, and her efficiency and work quality is superb! I highly recommend future applicants to consider her as your consultant!

Extremely helpful and well deserved review.

I started my journey for MBA admissions and GMAT prep four years ago and finally last year after lots of struggles and barriers I decided to apply to B-schools. I attended several free calls with consultants from different companies but after speaking with Nisha I believed that her professionalism and experience can really help me secure admission to a prestigious University.
She was very supportive throughout this overwhelming process and someone you can always count on for any admission related inquiries.
I truly recommend Nisha for anyone who is looking for complete support or any ad-hoc help needed.
Thanks Nisha!!

Highly recommend!

As someone pivoting careers, I was unsure if I would be a strong applicant. Nisha helped me from start to finish. We first developed a list of schools to target, and then we brainstormed ways in which I could leverage my personal and professional experiences in my applications and essays. Nisha did a great job of absorbing my life story, my aspirations, my unique experiences, and my strengths and weaknesses. Not only was Nisha incredibly helpful in devising a big-picture strategy, she also helped me with all of the minute details, and always in prompt fashion. Whether it was redirecting me to another topic, helping me to clarify my thoughts, or helping me with an ambiguous short-answer question on an application, Nisha always had great advice. I was ultimately admitted to multiple top-10 programs, in large part because of Nisha. And in the end, when deciding which school to attend, of course, Nisha’s advice was thoughtful, insightful, and right on!

Start to Finish Package Review - Nisha Trivedi

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I worked with Nisha starting in June 2019. From the beginning, Nisha was extremely helpful. She was very candid throughout my entire admissions process.

Nisha really took the time to understand my background and helped me craft "my story". As a traditional applicant (Indian male from a finance background), I thought I would not be able to differentiate myself. However, Nisha provided valuable insights that allowed me to highlight my strongest qualities, both from a professional and extracurricular activities perspective.

I especially enjoyed Nisha's demeanor, which was one of cautious optimism. This type of personality is very effective in a competitive MBA admissions process. All throughout my MBA journey, she kept motivating me but also wanted me to be realistic with potential outcomes. She was also readily available and answered all of my questions in a timely manner.

I highly recommend Nisha as a consultant without any reservation! With her help, I got into all of my top choice schools (Booth, Kellogg and Yale)!
