I was paired with Michael Guttman as an advisor for my mba application journey. He helped me from GMAT all the way to being accepted to my top program and everything in between. This process is crazy with deadline management while also working fulltime but Michael helped me stay on top of everything in terms of deadlines and made sure that I completed all my application tasks at an extremely high level. We broke down and re-worked my resume to such a degree that I was able to easily take pieces from our many iterations to complete my new school resume once I was admitted in less than an hour. My school’s resume counselor said that my resume was one of the best written resumes she had ever seen on a first submission and I was able to immediately get into our school’s resume book, thereby getting a head start on recruiting. That was all because of Michael’s painstaking care when it came to helping me with my resume. Over multiple session, we brainstormed everything that could possibly go into my resume and then broken down all of those ideas into well-articulated, perfectly succinct bullets that I could easily plug into my resume depending on what my story was for each school. Ensuring I mastered my resume is just one example, Michael took an extreme level of care with every aspect of my application journey, including devising different personalized questions for each school I applied to and helping me prep for every interview. I can honestly say that the level of my applications was elevated well beyond what I would have been capable of without his assistance, but perhaps more importantly, his guidance gave me the confidence I needed to stick with the process and get into my dream school. If you are serious about putting your best foot forward in the MBA application process, then Michael is your best bet.

Excellent Service - Highly Recommend

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

Michael was a fantastic consultant all around. Right from the start, I could tell Michael was experienced and understood all facets of the business school application process. It felt like I gained an ally, who was responsible for keeping me focused, and who could help weigh in on the difficult decisions that can arise during the application process (which aspects of my resume and past experience to emphasize, what my GMAT score implied, how to best construct an explanation of my future plans).

While all of the above was important, the thing that really stood out about Michael was his commitment. I had a bit of a unique experience, where I needed to get my application turned around quickly to try and meet this year's deadline. Michael made himself available throughout the process, providing feedback on my essays and helping me to work through all the details. I will always remember that level of commitment from Michael, and can't imagine what I would have done had he not been available. I am pleased to report that after submitting the application, I was accepted to my first choice school. I would wholeheartedly recommend MBA Mission, and specifically Michael, to any prospective students looking to take their business school applications to the next level.

Kept it real with me always and helped keep me grounded

As someone completely new to applying to Business school, I was relieved to be able to lean on Michael for his expertise. Even though I had a subpar undergraduate GPA, he helped me craft an incredibly effective story to maximize my chances at my target programs. He was amazing at listening to me throughout the entire process and didn't sugarcoat anything, which I appreciated. At the end, he came through in the biggest way. I was admitted to 4 out of 5 programs that I applied to. He always went above and beyond to help me and I would highly recommend his services!

Admitted to Kellogg!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

I could hardly be accepted to the MMM (MBA + MS Design Innovation) at Kellogg or granted a substantial scholarship at Rotman, had it not been for the great consultancy service that Michael dedicated to me.

Working with Michael is a pleasure! I just started working with him from Christmas 2019 while my applications were in Round 2 (early Jan 2020). That time was so tight and intensive that I felt anxious at first, but Michael's advice did help me to prepare my applications much more efficiently, leaving me calm and confident.

In specific, regarding my essays, Michael helped me not only to select the best story to tell but also to wisely convey the core message in a vivid yet concise language. Also, his comprehensive list of sample interview questions and the mock interview did boost my confidence a lot to ace the talks with school representatives.

Last but not least, Michael was also helpful in post-admission strategies, such as how to ask a school to extend their deposit deadline or the process of selecting which school to enroll.

To repeat, working with Michael is a key factor for me to be admitted to my dream school Kellogg!

Great Advice, So Helpful!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

Michael was an invaluable help throughout the entire application process. He gave me thorough and incisive feedback on essay drafts- both line-by-line commentary and big picture strategic direction.

Michael's suggestions for where I should apply were quite helpful as well. He met with me and did a complete mock-interview before one of my interviews, which really helped me to refine and improve my messaging. Most importantly, Michael was always prompt to respond to ad-hoc stream of consciousness questions that I had throughout the process, which was immensely valuable.

Thanks to Michael's help, I was admitted to two of my top choice business schools, Dartmouth and Yale. I couldn't be happier with how this process played out, and would recommend any other prospective applicants to use Michael's consulting.

Best consultant ever!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I have worked with Michael to apply for 6 MBA programs in round 2. All the business schools I have applied were extremely competitive as they were among the top 10 of the financial times.

My application was strong but I had an average GMAT/GRE score, therefore I worked with Michael to craft a very good essay based on my background and personal passions.

I believe Michael was incredibly supportive, he truly helped me in the whole process of editing my story in a very concise and coherent way. He was very punctual in his deliverable and he was always able to set and reach my expectations.

I am extremely grateful for his help and I would definitely recommend Michael!

Magnificent Michael - mbaMission

Indian - Male - IT - Average GMAT score. Deadly combo.

I purchased hourly services with Michael. We started working on the CV, to begin with, and he helped me completely transform my CV. With his help and nuanced opinions, I could tell a story in my CV and could project the impact I created with my work. Thereafter, he provided his feedback and edits on essays and helped me write my goals and story in a coherent and concise way.

I also had a mock interview session with him before facing my first ever b-school interview and I could convert that interview because of the practice I did with him. This practice proved seminal in my subsequent interviews with other schools.

Overall, Michael & I worked on essays of four different schools apart from CV and a mock interview. Michael is extremely proficient and easy to work with. If you send him a draft, you can definitely expect to receive the response within the stipulated timeframe.

I received multiple admits, each with a decent scholarship amount. I am extremely grateful to him for this collaboration. I wholeheartedly recommend Michael to anyone who is looking to get help with the b-school application process.

mbaMission Review (Michael Guttman)

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I applied to MBA programs of 3 schools: Peking, Tsinghua, and Fudan University. So far, I got accepted into both Peking Guanghua School of Management and Fudan IMBA. Tsinghua's interview is in just a few days.
Needless to say, I am very pleased with my application results. Peking Guanghua School of Management probably has the best MBA program in all of China, and it is my top choice.
I am very grateful for Michael's flexibility in giving feedback on multiple essays when I was in a time crunch. He knew all the right things to include. Despite my essays being way over the word limit, Michael patiently helped me cut my word-count, while still giving detailed feedback.
I was most thankful for Michael's genuine willingness to help. Frankly, I went over-time with both phone consultation and mock interview, but he didn't mind at all. Speaking of mock interview, I was definitely surprised when the questions he prepared were almost the exact same as the ones Peking Admissions asked me.

Excellent

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

Michael was a tremendous help in my application process and eventual admission to LBS. I was originally referred to Michael by one of his colleagues at mbaMission and found his upbeat, can-do attitude refreshing after rather dreary conversations with consultants at competing firms. We worked over tight timelines whereby he was incredibly responsive and composed from start-to-finish (brainstorming to interview prep). I was impressed by Michael's consistency in providing valuable feedback and/or insights at each turn and found him to be a very reliable partner throughout. In summary, Michael was a true pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him.

Comprehensive and Holistic Approach to MBA Applications

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I worked with Michael to apply to 8 highly competitive full-time MBA programs across Round 1 and Round 2, of which I am attending UCLA Anderson. The process was grueling, but Michael and I charted a course together, working closely to meet the deadlines I set for each application. Michael always responds quickly with pointed questions designed to distill the most important aspects of my story and ensure that they are reflected in my application. Each aspect of the application is crucial and Michael ensures that each component is addressed thoughtfully and holistically captures the candidate that you are. Michael was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend him to anyone applying to business school.
