My GMAT preparation began in Feb-17. I had already taken the GMAT in Sep-14 and scored a mere 620 - Q50 V25. Never in my mocks had I crossed a V27. I had read all the manhattan books multiple times and I was confident that my Sentence correction was strong. However, in the actual exam the level of questions was way harder than I had anticipated. I scored a mere V20 on the Verbal section for SC.
Then I read a review about e-GMAT and gave it a try. After watching the first 3-4 Video lectures, I was in love with the content. I could grasp the content much quicker and the content stayed longer in my head because of the Visual effects created by the company. I went through the recordings multiple times and solidified my concepts. The best part I liked about the course was the entire structure of the program. The course has various files such as concept files, application files and quiz files. This helps to solidify concepts even further. Lastly, after completing the pre-requisites, I attended the Live Sessions.
The Live sessions were extremely well organized, with questions covering various concepts. Moreover, the instructors are extremely patient and hats off to all of you to answer some of the most basic questions. The best part about the instructors is that they don't give out the answers too easily. They make you think, which aids to understand even better.
So after completing my SC section, I improved from a V20 to a V30 on my Sentence correction. I started solving the questions based on Sentence structure. I then moved on to my CR and RC sections. Having studied the Sentence Correction course, my reading improved drastically. I could understand the various pieces in a convoluted RC passage. The company uses "Verb-ing" and "Verb-ed" instead of the Traditional terms such as Gerunds/Infinitive/Appositive Clauses etc. This is key to remembering what each term is. Again, hats off to a well designed course and coming up with such easy to understand names.
Now without digressing any further, I took my first attempt in July -17. I got a 640 - Q49 v29. That's a 4 point improvement right off the bat. I was dejected and thought to give one more attempt. I went through all the files again and took another attempt in Sep-17. I scored a Q49 V32 - 670. I was delighted with the score because this was the first time I breached the V30 mark. I attribute this section largely to e-gmat. However, I hadn't done Scholarinium yet. I plan to take one more attempt in Oct-17 and practice on Scholarinium. I believe I can reach a v35.
In sum, had it not have been to e-gmat, I would always be lingering in the mid - 20s on my verbal section. This course provided me with a new path that the GMAT verbal is crack able. Persistence is the key and approach is necessary.
I hope you all give this course a whirl and see for yourself the improved self confidence you shall face while taking the actual exam.
I started preparing for GMAT in December 2016, and have been struggling ever since :)
After two months of Random Preparation and sort of reaching no where , a friend told me about E-GMAT.
I am a working professional and E-GMAT sorted of suited my Routine , as I could attend the Live sessions over the weekend and do the Prep Courses and view recording over the weekdays. So I instantly opted for E-GMAT.
I gave a Mock at the initial stage, and scored 530. Q43 and V22 .
After then I started preparing based on Courses in E-GMAT and they helped a lot . Starting from Basics to High End concepts , everything is covered in this E-GMAT course.
The Quant Course in Particular is Super amazing , as it brushes up your concepts, helps with the new concepts , and questions above 700 level.
Last week I gave mock a my score was 660 (Q48 and V33) . So I do have come a long way from 530 , but still have a long way to go.
Relying on E-GMAT for the help.
Hope you guys opt for E-GMAT as well !
Do well ! Best of luck :)
I came to know about e-GMAT through GMATClub. I was skeptical about a non-classroom course. Having taken classroom classes, I enrolled myself with one of the GMAT training centers but realized within a month that those classes couldn't take my score to the north of 700.
I thought of attending a webinar conducted by E-GMAT and was amazed by the teaching method and explanations given by the faculty. My apprehensions of attending an online course by an overseas company were taken care of. The clarity of concepts and the approach to solving the questions used by the Egmat team made me realize the need for meaning clarity and crystal clear concepts.
While my quants was decent, I thought of enrolling myself for the Verbal course. The video explanations of the OG questions and the articles were the most helpful in my preparation.
The course helped me to improve my SC accuracy from 70% to more than 90%. As a non-native student I have always focused on accuracy(as may be evident in my post), but e GMAT helped me realized the importance of ability. GMAT is not just about accuracy but more about ability.
Apart from the comprehensive course created by the team, scholarnium is the tool which helps the student push the score towards 40.
I took the Gmat some months ago and scored a V34. Taking into consideration that i am a non native i had trouble with the verbal section. Almost disapointed with my performance i signed up for E-Gmat Verbal Live Prep and it was one of the best choices i made. Lacking focus and confidence the E gmat team asked me to trust them and do as they say and i would be able to score high. I score a V34 with only limited practice. I only practised with the OG and only a little with Scholaranium. I didnt use all the helpful parts of my course(eg i didnt use the verbal workshop ). I believe that if i had some more time to practise some more questions from the Scholaranium(and the other parts) i would be able to score much better.
Their Sentence correction is really amazing. They wont ask you to memorize 1000 idioms ; their strategy is based on meaning. My SC quickly became my strongest part on the whole Gmat.
Their Critical Reasoning is also commendable. Especially if you are a non native and you have never had a standardized critical reasoning test before this course is a must. They really help you with DETAILED explanations. Every question is broken down into pieces of a puzzle. Quickly you will learn what CR is about. Practise from the OG and Scholaranium to get a high score.
Their Reading Comprehension is mostly a set of strategies. If you are having trouble with RC they have very nice detailed videos to help you learn how the gmat wants us to read for it.
The Live courses are available for sometime so you can catch any batch your work schedule allows you. The live lessons are a good source of confidence and they provide classroom experience. You will be able to measure your performance in competition with other students. This is very nice if you are studying alone. You also be able to understand how much time you should normally spend on any section. The live lessons compel you to study harder to be ready for the next lesson. Interaction with the instructor is really helpful. At the end of each lesson they resolve all the special queries of the students. Thank you for being close Krishna and Egmat team. If you are having problem with your tests or practice quizzes they can provide personal help with no added cost.
The course architecture is helpful in helping you learn in the quickest possible way. The videos are elaborate and industrially designed (meticulously). They are very interactive and cool to watch with many colors and images that make you feel better about studying while other courses only have a dry video with some guy mumbling..
On the downside i can definetely say that the product support ( email support) could be better. I think that this part of the company is understaffed.
Overall, a very good experience and cheap course in terms of what they offer. I would highly recommend.
HI guys , gave my gmat once in Nov 2016 ( got a score of 640 q48 v 31 )
Will be giving the exam one more time on OCT 6 2017
I started with a mock score of around 520 with a very bad verbal score of V20 . I thought that maybe this exam is not for me as i was very scared of the CR and RC section
I tried MGMAT books for SC and CR after my mock test , even though they helped me a lot in understanding the concepts , I had a lot of difficulties in applying those concepts . Then I came to know about E-gmat verbal online course from GMAT club and it really helped in SC and CR ( was not able to finish the RC section of the course ) . The SC concepts were explained in detail with good examples in audio video format ( Ive never been a fan of books ).Basics such as how to determine a clause and what modifiers are helped me in understanding SC in a better way.Even the CR files were quite detailed and they explained each qs type ( assumption, strengthen etc ) in a very simple manner
I was able to increase my verbal score from V20 to V31 in about 3 months. ( Also I was not able to use scholaranium feature - which is one of the most talked about feature in egmat )
I hope I'll be able to score much better in my upcoming gmat exam . Would highly recommend the verbal course of egmat for students who have their 1st mock score below 600 .
The eGmat Verbal online course is great especially on sentence correction. The concepts are explained very well and are easy to understand. The explanations from eGmat gives you confidence in answering questions and confidence helps you answer the questions very well. Before I took the eGmat course I normally found it confusing in answering sentence correction questions, especially because the English grammar required for the Gmat is a bit different from the english language we are used to outside the Gmat. That difference added to the fact that I am a non native English speaker made GMAT verbal very tough for me. before I took the eGmat verbal online course i could barelly score above V32. but After I took the eGmat verbal online course my scores on verbal have been consistently above V38.
E-gmat claims to have a huge pool of questions in the scholaranium for SC practice, but I must admit that most of these questions are not upto the mark. Out of some 180 odd questions dedicated to SC, the company claims that around 50-60 are of 700 level. But, these questions are not at all difficult. Once can pass through the entire set by knowing some typical rules like two independent clauses can't be connected by commas. These questions test rules that are rarely tested on the gmat. In my opinion, it is a good place to start if someone needs a good medium level questions to practice on. but in case, you want to up your game, then these would not suffice. Explanations are provided for all the questions, and I must admit that these are very detailed. You would not find such detailed explanations anywhere else. In my opinion, you should opt for the verbal scholoranium if you want to practice on some basic and medium level problems. Overall, I am satisfied with the product, but the product could have been improved considerably. The company could provide some more hard level problems based on concepts that are actually important from a GMAT perspective.
I have been using the course material for my preparation for the exam, which is in the next 20 days.
The course is very comprehensive and detailed. Each section is divided into sub sections and after the basic overview given , related questions have to be solved. This increases the understanding of the topic.
Also, the OG questions have been divided and provided with each section.
Some of the concepts ,such as absolute value, quadratic equation ,prime numbers etc. have been explained very well.
Scholaranium is very much useful in preparing for the exam. The questions in Scholaranium are of high quality and gives a good insight into the questions that one can face on the exam day.
Hi,
I appeared twice for GMAT and got 620 (Q50, V25) both times. Seeing no improvement in my verbal score, I lost my confidence. After analysis, I realized that RC was my major problem. Meanwhile, I came to know about e-GMAT. I purchased the e-GMAT Verbal Online Course to improve my Verbal Score. The course provides good strategies to tackle RC, CR, and SC with lot of examples. RC section provides detailed strategies to read and attempt different type of problems. The presentation of course is very engaging and interesting. Finally, I took my GMAT on 19th January 2016, and scored 690(Q50, V31). The SC section provides a lot of examples with strategies to tackle similar problems.
I was weak in Verbal esp sentence correction. After going through a couple of forums, i decided to take verbal e-gmat course and scholaranium. Egmat's unique approach to solving SC problems simplified the concepts and application process. e-gmat course improved my sentence correction drastically. Similarly, practicing scholaranium helped me improve my CR and RC sections as well. Scholaranium helped me target my weak points and improve it. The level of questions is a touch higher than what is expected in gmat. This helped me to gain my confidence and addressed my timing considerations as well. This is certainly one of the best prep courses available.
