Great school with a very accommodating admissions and Career counselling team. Austin is the hub of innovation, if you want to be an entrepreneur , McCombs is the school. School is pretty flexible with curriculum and classes. You can opt for classes based on your interest and career goals. You will meet amazing classmates, who come from diverse backgrounds. School places students in groups of 5 for the first semester. Each individual comes from different functional area and industry. This kind of helps you quickly ramp up through the core curriculum. School provides you with multiple networking opportunities to talk to people from various organizations, and this process starts from day 1.

The rankings are the rankings and you can see where schools are, but what isn't shown is the strength of the network. The McCombs network can go toe to toe with any B-School in terms of total numbers, willingness by alumni to help students, and opportunities provided to students. Furthermore, the sheer number of companies that come onto campus, and how early they come, is really impressive. I have friends at other B Schools who were just barely getting their feet wet in the classroom while we already had multiple recruiting events and information sessions.
I was fortunate enough to have the choice between a few schools, and what ultimately tipped me over to McCombs was the quality of the student body and the extreme willingness of all in the longhorn network to help one another. They are building a brand new building for the MBA program, which will finally remove my only real complain of the program in the lack of modern facilities. When it is all said and done, McCombs will continue to shine as one of the premier MBA programs in the country.

McCombs has been a great school to be at as I transition my career into supply chain management. The career services staff provides valuable guidance regarding companies to target, interviewing tips, and networking advice. Job placement is strong, and career services will not let you fall through the cracks.
The most remarkable thing about McCombs, however, is the student body. It is not a cut throat school, but rather a collaborative one in which students help each other rather than compete with each other.
Many students go into consulting, but there are clubs and resources for students interested in other functions. Austin is a great place to go into tech, with heavy recruiting from local companies like Dell. Additionally, many students pursue an entrepreneurial track, as Austin is a huge hub for startups.
Facilities are currently lacking, but the new business building will be opening next year.
Financial aid is generous, and tuition is the lowest among top tier schools. If you can get in state tuition, there is no reason to attend another business school witwh the strong ROI McCombs provides.
Core curriculum is incredibly challenging, but professors and students are more than willing to lend a helping hand. The first semester will test your boundaries, but provide an integral backbone to the MBA experience.
Many companies come to interview on campus, such as Dell, Microsoft, Apple, American Airlines, SunPower, Emerson, JP Morgan, Under Armour, Wal Mart, USAA, Cisco, PepsiCo, Amazon, etc..

When I was looking at business schools, one of my criteria was the class-size. I wanted a smaller class size, an environment where I am surrounded by people who will support me. McCombs did exactly that. Students, faculty and staff are all ready to support you in every way possible. As an international student, my classmates have helped me adapt to this new culture, and provide me timely feedback, which allows me to improve myself.
The experiential learning opportunities (MBA+ projects) have helped me explore career options even before the summer internship. Through this experience, I can make a more informed decision of whether I would like to intern in that role/industry this summer and narrows down my career search (which can be exhausting sometimes).

Tons of opportunities to take active leadership roles in the clubs/orgs. Students are extremely collegial and helpful. Just about all the big companies recruit at the school, and I could even see progress in that area over the two years I was there. Finally, having a smaller class gave me the opportunity to get to know just about all my classmates by the time I graduated. Think about geography of where you ultimately want to get a job. Although I partly chose McCombs because I wanted to end up in Texas, McCombs gave me a chance to work in the Bay Area for my internship.
"Take the professor, don't take the class." That strategy worked very well, even though I took a few classes out of my core interest.
You'd be very surprised to see how many McCombs graduates end up in the Silicon Valley and in Seattle.

Hi, I'm applying for MS Marketing at McCombs Fall 2018, do you know any current student or alumni studying that program? pls give me their contacts. Thank u so much!
The selection of companies that participated in on campus recruiting were outstanding. I was interested in operations and tech, and I feel like the school is a great fit for those tracks as well as many others. Facilities were the biggest downside relative to some other schools, but McCombs is currently constructing a brand new building that looks amazing.
Most of the biggest companies and many of the fastest growing tech startups are frequently on campus recruiting, and the access you receive is excellent.
I particularly enjoyed my classmates, who were extremely friendly and collaborative, while maintaining the competitive environment of a top business school at the same time. If I could do it again I would choose Mccombs.
