Easily one of the best schools in Europe with the best ROI. Anyone looking for a shorter MBA it can't get better than this. Amazing location. Amazing Cohort. Amazing Faculties. EDHEC Business School deserves much more admiration than currently. The interaction with the cohort made me realise how diverse and incredible each individuals are. The School has an extra edge if you are into Finance or Entrepreneurship. The school also has a big focus on sustainability and a lot of co-curriculum activities revolve around it. The school is located in the French Promenade and stands behind a breathtaking view which you can't get enough of.

Program Master in Management (BM Track)

Class of 2017

Experience during the program

Well finally having done EDHEC Masters, I am glad to say I have absolutely no regrets with respect to the School. The School goes out of its way to help its fellow students and teaching is comparable to the best in the world. I say that having attended the INSEAD open day and attending a lecture.
On the negatives, the French Market is heavily stacked against internationals even if you speak french. One more annoying aspect is the attitude of French students. This is not limited to EDHEC but most French Business Schools. They are mostly your middle class good French boys and girls who did Prepa and think they own the world because they passed a competition exam. They put zero efforts in group work or making feeling internationals feel part of the school. There are ofcourse exceptions and they remain just that - exceptions.

Most Internationals found jobs if they really wanted to do but a lot of us had to compromise on one or the other aspect - (Desired function, company, role ) etc. EDHEC Does provide you the tools to have a fantastic career guidance and opportunity to meet companies.

Now, even though EDHEC may be a better school, would i recommend it over a similar or worse School in Germany ? Hell No. My first internship from EDHEC was in Germany even though German Firms know nothing about EDHEC. THe German Economy is much better than France's, meaning even unranked programs are able to get you better jobs then schools Like EDHEC or ESCP in France. In the end , if you like me are going to Business School to get a job, for me this trumps everything else, no matter how fantastic the school's administration and support (I really love my school as you can tell, except for the French Students). Now EDHEC Gives you the option of doing double degrees with Schools in Germany and America (Some as incredible as Haas and LSE). So I would seriously consider these options.

EDHEC probably will care more for you and put efforts to get you across the finish line then other Business Schools. But its also a question of choosing France vs the Rest of Europe.

As a side not. I suggest to check glassdoor salaries for Big 4 in France vs Germany. In Germany salaries are much higher. Meaning, an Average business Graduate in Germany is likely to have a higher salary then a graduate from HEC in France, HEC is the no 1 ranked school in Europe. This comes down to the economies.

About professors, classes and curriculum

Insanely incredible brain power if you want to use it available at your services. Most French students don't really care at all about classes or professors and turned up drunk sometimes, and that gave us internationals even more facetime and conversation time with professors.
These professors are usually industry leaders with experience sharing their knowledge and helping you with their networks. Having attended MBA level classes at INSEAD and DARDEN, I am incredibly proud to say EDHEC can go toe to toe with the best in terms of curriculum and quality of professors.

About job placement process

Well if you are European, Honesly the EDHEC brand name gets you super far. If you are International , well, one will have to compromise on some aspect like desired function, company , location etc.

FINANCE -
This is EDHEC's strength. I thought it was all marketing but no. Every company worth its salt visits us including the goldmans and the morgans and barkleys. Even Internationals have placed incredibly well into these firms. If you are serious about Market Finance or Corporate Finance, or even investment Banking, EDHEC has the chops.

CONSULTING-
MBB doesn't recruit on campus, but we send 2-3 each year to each of these firms. BIG 4 hires butt loads but only Europeans and mostly French. if you are international, Consulting really isn't an option

Marketing,CPG-
Each year, around 100 companies visit. Its up to you to convince them that you are worth it. :) . EDHEC does give plenty of networking ops.

Intense 10 month exceptional experience

Class of 2018

Experience during the program

One of the main reasons I chose the EDHEC MBA was becuase of the shorter duration of the programme as I didn't want to (and couldn't afford) to take too long a break. It's a 10 month programme and basically has:

- core courses (pretty much the same as most schools I looked at)
- a specialisation track (you choose one out of 4) which runs for a full month
- mba project (I chose to do the consulting project but there are a few choices - like internship, academic exchange, business plan when I was there)
- 2 business trips, one to South Africa (Sustainability) and one as part of the track, so goes to different location depending on the track you choose.

You cover everything in the 10 months so it is very intense, and at times can be frustrating as you move so quickly through the different subjects, but as I said, I wanted a shorter programme, so I shouldn't complain!

I wanted to get more exposure in terms of corporate strategy and finance and honestly have a new challenge. My goal post-MBA was to be able to take next step in my career progression and change industry. I already worked in an international role so the fact that the class is very diverse was a bonus too. In fact the class diversity (nationalities, experience, background) proved to be one of the best things about the MBA experience. As the class size is pretty small, you really get to know the class and you get to learn so much from them - plus for the most part, we are all still in touch.

The final plus is the location. The campus is right on the sea, opposite Nice airport. It's a stunning place to take a break from work, although i can't say it was a relaxing 10 months!

If you already have quite a bit of experience, then I think the 10 month length is great and the class is a little more experienced than some other schools. The fact that the classes are small (around 50 people) means the school has quite a personal feel and you build really strong relationships with the class very quickly.

Overall, I had an exceptional time and the duration, international diversity and personalised experience fit perfectly to what I was looking for.

Exceeded my expectations

Experience during the program

Going to EDHEC was one of the best decisions of my life. It's a program that truly caters to professionals. The courses were quick but more similar to a work environment than tradition schedules and it focused heavily on teamwork. I became better at presenting effectively, critical thinking and leading a team of peers (which is an often forgotten necessity to success). The people who got the most out of the program were those who didn't stay in their comfort zone. By far the best part of the MBA was getting to go through it so many wonderful people from all over the world and different industries.
