Hi,
Being an asian-india,with my school curriculum concentrating much on quant since my childhood-i always scored 95%+ on any competitive exam. But when it came to gmat prep the toughest decision was what sources to refer to for quant.Though there are courses offered .i knew the basics upto 80% and i understood the exam would test basics but would involve some sort of reasoning as its based on logical reasoning and some other skills which will be tested as it is gonna put you in the business world.
So referring books was tough because many books are there and even if i refer the basics are same but then i tried gmat club tests.
so em gonna pen down things why gc tests or after you complete 26 tests-what can you learn
1.) you have worked with 99% -100% of topics covered on gmat
2.) you have learnt the skills to answer the 99% questions on gmat-because when you review the question after test you find answers linked to forum where experts and other students have given their answers and queries-surely your querie(posted by past students ) or your method will be there and an expert replying to it- incase you get your answer wrong and wondering what you did ;),also multiple solutions are given.
3.) time based-this is what i like.51q in 75 minutes-you do 26 tests seriously nothing can beat this-you working on some real test based quant questions. you will surely hit 47+ trust me at the end but ya need to do few things-
4.) review: reviewing the tests is very important- when you review make notes of the mistakes or some key things like square of number ,square root of number, absolute values, signs etc- this things are limited in gmat from other exams also ensure you never commit same mistake so review is important.
5.) buneul is always there to reply to your solutions from tests on the link in the solution.
6.) you can review buneul books, some quant basics and go for gc tests- nothing more you need to hit 47+.
7.) yes 49+ is also possible but there are few things you need to yourself which are based on your skills :)
8.) gc tests gives me lot of confidence-like apple a day keeps doctor away ;)
9.) yes, another thing the moderators and the team are very friendly wrt to technical or other issues ;)
good luck guys.
Hi, Myself Virender Kumar from India. I've started my GMAT prep 1.5 years back but due to work pressure didn't managed to keep the preparation regularly. There were lot of breaks in between my preparation. Then in 2015 I write GMAT with a dismal score of 660. I've always aimed for 700+ but didn't managed to get it.
Then after a lot of online search and reviews, I came across GMAT club tests which is one of the best investment that I made towards GMAT prep. These tests are a very good resource in terms of questions, analysis provided and score description. I think if a person goes through all the tests regularly, he/she can achieve target score. Moreover the score which you get in these tests are a true reflection of what you get in GMAT with +/- of 20. I will definitely recommend these tests to anyone who is preparing for GMAT.
The test questions are of very high-quality. Although many reviews can be found regarding the quantitative section, I also feel the verbal question collection is great. Any student aiming to score 650+ should subscribe to these tests. Moreover, the tests come with detailed explanations, in most cases, which help to look at the problems from different perspectives i.e. different ways to solve. The report generated from the practice is very detailed and is an excellent tool to gauze expertise and weaknesses in various areas; and manage limited study time in the most efficient manner. I would definitely recommend these tests to anybody aiming for an above-average GMAT score.
I am very fond of GMATclub tests and forum. This e-learning platform provides one of the best tool for people who want to practice and understand their strengths and weaknesses. I have found questions very competitive and true representation of the GMAT CAT. This builds the confidence in a test-taker to face the real GMAT test. The questions are not entirely made up of probability or geometry as in Manhattan CATs.
The only aspect that I regret is the number of questions. I think they should further increase the question bank. Be careful on using the complete test or separate tests. This will reduce the number of available complete tests for you in the long-run.
Thank you, GMATclub!
I have become the member of GMAT club during the preparation for my Gmat.
I found that the gmat club tests are very useful to give you right feed back about your weaknesses and strengths. The quant questions are the best. I have increased my quant score form 44 to 48 easily.
I will recommend the gmat club test for every one who wants to score more than 45 in quant.
The analysis of questions was very helpful for me to attack my weaknesses and solidify my concepts in quant.
I am very thankful to gmat club to help me in my journey towards B school.
I got access to these tests as part of my e-GMAT course enrollment. The Quant Section has about 26 practice tests and the Verbal section has 9 practice tests.
The user interface is pretty simple and has added fucntionalities and statistics to assist you in identifying you strong and weak areas. If you utilize these tools efficiently, it can help you improve by atleast 30/40 points on the GMAT.
The quant practice tests are comprehensive and include quality sums which test various spheres of your quant understanding. However, the verbal practice tests fall short of expectations. While i expected the format to mirror the actual GMAT, they fell short by completely going off-track. I remember appearing for 2 verbal tests in which there were no RC questions. This is unlike the GMAT where there 3 RC passages for verbal. Apart from this, the questions were of good quality.
i recommend these tests for anyone who wishes to improve their quant score and practice verbal.
The GMAT club tests are precisely what they claim to be... the hardest quant tests in the market. However they are very useful because each question has brilliant explanations from bunuel and the gmatclub community. The tests are best used in the 'middle phase' of prep when you've completed all the concepts but do not want to finish the official tests just yet. The analytics are detailed and should be used to make a customized study plan and eliminate weaknesses. Your score on these tests may not accurately indicate what you might score on the actual exam since they are much tougher. However the more important thing with the tests is reviewing and learning from your mistakes and learning the traps employed by the GMAT
Having taken all the 26 Quant tests of the GMAT Club tests, I can claim with great conviction that any serious test taker should take these tests and master his Quant skills. If there is any preparatory material that resembles the Quant section of the actual test after the two official GMAT Prep tests, it is the GMAT CLub tests.
I only used the Manhattan guides for the basics of Quants and took all the tests, thereafter. My understanding of the Quant section of the GMAT kept growing with each test that I took - time management, shortcuts, my own weaknesses. My scores in the tests would range from 45 to 51. However, I scored 49 in the section on the final day. I reckon this was due to exam anxiety. The questions have been chosen very adroitly and the answers to the questions are just what a student needs. Hats off to the people behind this !!
All said and done, there is a lot to be done with regard to the Verbal part. I stopped taking these tests after just 2 attempts. It was a sheer waste of time. It does not resemble the actual Verbal section and some answers are even debatable. Do improve on the quality of the Verbal part and increase the number of tests as well.
This will make the tests a one stop destination for mastering the GMAT exam!!
Pros:
- the tests are great at focusing in on certain topics. Creating a question bank for those specific areas really helps to reinforce concepts and techniques.
- the question explanations and forum link functionality are very helpful indeed – the explanations with discussions really improve efficiency.
Cons:
- having not appreciated how hard the questions are, the initial tests can be demoralising (although I appreciate that the tough questions are what draw people to the tests)
- it has been said before, but I don’t feel that the scores show an accurate estimate of real GMAT scoring, and can vary dramatically from test to test.
The GMAT Club tests are very different from the other tests that are available in the market. They test you on the basics of every concept, which in turn prepares you for all the possibilities that you can possibly face in the GMAT. The CATs are also very adaptive and give a true reflection of your understanding of the topics. A decent score in the GMAT Club CATs , a Q45-Q48, almost assures you of Q50-Q51 in the real exam. The analytics part of GMAT Club is unique to itself. It helps you analyse your shortcomings and tells you the areas of improvement. Hence, these tests are useful if you want to prepare from scratch or if you want to retake your exam and improve your score. All in all one of the best products available, especially for Quant.
