Joe did an excellent job making the teaching engaging and interesting. He has great analogies to bring to life some very complicated topics. The course has a logical progression and each session did a great job of building on foundational topics before introducing more advanced material. I scored a 600 on my first practice test, which I knew was well below my potential. By the end of the course I was scoring in the 680's and felt very happy with the progress. After some post-course work and support from Joe by email, I was able to hit my goal >700 with a 710 on test day.

Manhattan Prep did an excellent job at helping me prepare for the GMAT. I took the in person course taught by Jamie Nelson (in Houston) who did a great job of covering the base material as well as additional test strategies that can be very helpful. The class provided plenty of material to really get familiar with the types of questions which was a large part of my success. Other than studying the basics of all the topics covered in class, I highly recommend practicing questions until you can identify what type of question they are asking and what they are testing before working the problem. I would recommend this course to my friends. If you have the opportunity to take the course from Jamie, I highly recommend that as well.

I had a great opportunity to take a course taught my Dan Bartz. All of the previous reviews were only positive and my review is only positive. He was very good at going through the material concisely and efficiently, while still adhering to the pace of the class. All of the tips and tricks he taught were very useful, as I improved my score from an original 560 to a 760 at the end (49 Quant, 45 Verbal). He was encouraging and friendly throughout the whole process, and really was useful in suggesting ways to overcome the toughest problems. Let me start by saying that I highly recommend his course. I needed help primarily with the verbal section as I am a non-native English speaker. The course starts with fundamentals and gradually builds upon them. The Navigator tool and in-depth review of mock tests are extremely useful as they inform you very precisely of the areas where you are lagging behind.

Instructor
Kim Cabot needs no introduction as is evident from already existing reviews of hers. She has a great understanding of GMAT questions and knows exactly what to look for in the responses. In Quants, some of the tricks she mentioned in the classes provided me with an alternate way of solving problems. With regards to the verbal section, I found her structured approach to problem solving extremely useful. Very soon you realize that GMAT verbal section is a test less of English proficiency but more of eliminating wrong choices as quickly as possible. The most remarkable attribute of her instruction is that it instills in you a belief that a good score can be achieved with smart work and meticulous error logging.

I signed up for the 9 session prep course with the expectation that most of the benefit I'd get out of it would be from the books themselves and from the motivation to stick to a study schedule (something I had previously failed at). However, it turned out that in addition to those benefits, the live classes taught by Keith were extremely helpful in making the strategy tips work for me. He helped us understand the nuances of the more difficult GMAT questions, especially for Quant. I also appreciated that we started the sessions with an open forum where people could bring up questions or concerns that had come up over the past week, either specific to a certain problem or general testing/admissions strategy questions.

The Manhattan Prep course is an organized, in-depth study program that does an amazing job of preparing students for the test. They not only teach the content but also emphasize learning and test-taking strategies, which are crucial to success and not easy to learn through the test prep books alone. I took the GMAT class with Eric Caballero as highly recommended by my friend, who scored 750+. The first class I had with Eric, I realized he is AWESOME! Not only he was able to explain questions clearly, he taught the strategy of solving questions given limited time. Plus, he is very nice and has good humor.

When I took my first mock test (un-timed) before the class, I scored 700+, however it took me more than twice of the time allowed to finish it. After taking the class with Eric and finishing homework assigned, I was able to solve most questions within suggested time. A month after I finished the class, I was able to score 750+ on my official test. Kudos to Manhattan Prep and Eric!

I would suggest Manhattan prep and Eric to anyone who wants to crack the GMAT and avoid lengthy preparation time.

The 9 week online course covers most basic concepts that you will see on the real test. The books are fantastic; they provide you with most things you need to know about the GMAT. I took the 9-week course with Dan in Chelsea Manhattan and it was really great. Dan was a smart, patient teacher and kept things as engaging as you could. The materials are excellent. There is a lot of homework but it definitely keeps you on the right track. It was a really good foundation. To be honest what really brought my score up was taking a bunch of practice tests once the class was done but the class was great for learning the material.

I was really happy with my score in the end, it went up a lot over the course of the class. With the practice tests I would say the true GMAT math is a lot easier and the verbal is a little harder. I supplemented with actual GMAC exams.

Class session was awesome! I highly recommend to anyone who is serious about reaching their GMAT goals. I took the class in Boston (Back Bay) and Sergio Frisoli was the instructor. He was the absolute best. Class pace was perfect - challenging but not impossible (I suggest only doing what is required during the week....doing the extra problems is too much. Spend 1-2 months after the last class to study on your own - during this time you can do all the extra problems you want). I am not a flashcard person but they also helped a lot. Keeping a detailed error log is also important.
