First of all, I want to say that I have been a Magoosh client since 2014. I really liked how thorough the quant material is explained. The videos are structured by the topic. At the end of each topic, you can take a quiz. Can't say much on the verbal, as I combined Magoosh with E-GMAT. Nonetheless, I can say that the questions represent additional practice.
Very Hard questions seem pretty challenging, yet the concepts tested are very simple...it only makes you faceslap yourself for making such silly mistakes.
Mike McGarry is an awesome teacher, and his feedback is always valuable. Overall, Magoosh's feedback is way better than the ones from other companies (i.e. e-Gmat).

I strongly recommend taking the courses if you need to brush up your fundamentals in Quant.

Quick update: Magoosh helped me to increase my raw Q score to 49, which is not bad at all.

I have been away from a college for 7 years thus, I had to refresh everything. Magoosh's VDO lessons were very useful to refresh math concept for the folk like me. They provided not only basic concepts but also techniques to solve very hard quant questions.

Even though Magoosh costs you the lowest price in the market, it has tons of questions, 600 quant and 500 verbal questions. The quant questions are very close to the real test, not too hard or too easy like other test preparation courses. These questions are sufficient for scoring 700up if you are already good in English or a native speaker. I highly recommended quant section because of the cost and plenty of questions.

Of the verbal section, the questions were not quite the same as the real test. As a non-native speaker, I found that to prepare for this section, extra homework was required, for example, reading the business articles to improve vocabulary. I faced a difficulty in CR and RC because of my vocabulary.
Of the SC, estimated 50% of the questions in the real test were taught in the Magoosh's lesson while the others were about logical sentence structure that required reading comprehensive skill. If you are a native speaker or already very good in English, you might choose Magoosh to learn tricks and techniques in the verbal section. However, I did not recommend it for a non-native speaker who want to start learning from the basic English concept.

Before studying with Magoosh, I got Q34 V17. The real test I got Q48 V20. It is obvious that I vastly improved in quant section but not verbal.

The course is a good resource for getting your basics right by going through all the concepts. I did all the parts which were a problem area for me. Although they do start from levels which are really low, but its understandable when your audience is varied. The option of just going through the notes helps in this case. I used it to brush up all the areas once. The practice questions are also of decent level. I used the filters to create tests as per my need and i feel that helped me a lot. These guys are also very helpful when it comes to any questions or help you need. Their replies are prompt and accurate.

After self-prep and using a book from Kaplan, took the GMAT in October 2015, scoring a 590. Decided to go with Magoosh for the second go-round and couldn’t be happier with the results.
PROS: Incredibly in-depth review, covering most every potential topic on the test; difficulty of practice questions and tests is higher than actual GMAT for everyone but the top 1%; focus on actually teaching you the math needed, not just shortcut theories; short (5-15 min) videos cover a topic in a short enough time that doesn’t leave you spacing off.
CONS: Voice of the question explanation (Quant side) will drive you somewhat crazy after a while; consistency of practice questions within the videos is hit and miss – would have liked more direct application as I’m learning the theories; practice question setup doesn’t allow you to practice specific subsets of topics, only general (i.e. Algebra when I wanted to focus on Factoring).
Overall, I highly recommend Magoosh. It focused my prep and drilled in on the areas I needed help with, while not wasting my time forcing me to do unnecessary modules. I took the test a second time in February 2016, and scored a 720. Thanks Magoosh!

Hello Guys. Over the past few months I have seen a lot of posts enquiring about Magoosh. So today I, being a Magoosh Premium Member, thought let me write a review about my personal experience with Magoosh in order to help future test takers. Please note that I already had my cozy date with the GMAT before I enrolled for their premium account, I have 710 Q48 V38 and am looking towards improving my GMAT score a little bit more, precisely a 750.

What persuaded you to take the Magoosh Premium Account?

Well I had written the GMAT before and I felt that I was weak in my basics. Also I needed some sort of strategy for the kinds of sums I do. I don’t really need another book on SC or CR, What I required was strengthening my previous knowledge. So I asked my friend, a Magoosh user, about the way the course is structured. After I got my own account I was surprised to see the number of videos these guys have made.

What kind of videos do you get access to?

All kinds, From the difference between GRE to GMAT to How to attack RC and CR problems. I could see that there are more than a 100 videos, covering lots of concepts such Probability and Combinations, Essential and Non- Essential Modifiers etc. All the videos(100+) are made by Mike McGary ( Yes the legendary Magoosh Instructor on the forum) with a few made by Chris Lele. The videos are bullet videos i.e crisp and straight to the point. They also have an Idiom Flash card tool that you can use to revise Idioms daily.

How are the questions? Are they GMAT like?

The questions are top notch! See they have limited questions but each question has a new technique or strategy to teach! You could do 100 questions that are similar or do 10 questions that are testing/teaching different concepts.

You didn’t tell anything about whether they are GMAT like?

They are strictly in the boundaries of GMAT. Not brutal, not deceiving, but yes tricky.

Ok so the questions are good, so what about the answer explanations?

They are very good. Each answer explanation has a video recording. I am guy who likes to watch videos and not read from the book. So it fitted me well. Also when you see a person explaining a concept you tend to retain things better and by better I mean for the long term.

Will I get a 780 by using their course?

780 depends on a lot of factors. Your skill, your effort, your comprehension speed, your reaction time and your knowledge. Use the course to enhance your preparation. This wont be a magical bullet for a 780 but a bullet to cover knowledge gaps and make you practice your weak areas.

How do I best use their course?

‘Best’ is a subjective word. Here is what I am doing- Watch all the videos, take mini mock tests (Q37 V41 Questions), do error analysis and make flash cards for my weak areas.

Bought its premium which involves both verbal and quant. Had a initial score of 620 (not great) and was able to improve it to 660 in a month or so.

They run you through a TON of exercises to and track your progressive scores. Clear and easy to follow interface and can actually see your progress throughout the tests that you do. You dont have to sit through a test every time and can actually just do them whenever you have time and will save your progress. Its nice to see a predictive GMAT score as you go through the test one by one as well.

Only cons I see is more the support and phone application when I was using it. The interface to complete on the phone was clunky and didnt really sync properly to your account.

I'm no GMAT pro, but feel as though I should be one (4th time's a charm). Money is tight, but this resource so far is proving to be very helpful, and affordable. Having video explanations after each problem is super helpful. The price cannot be beat when you compare it to the other elite programs out there. It's very easy to sign up and start studying instantly. I encourage people to take advantage of such a great program. I was recommended to this by a friend who improved his score by 50 points which put him over 710. I didn't benefit as much as that friend of mine did, but I definitely got a better grasp of the general everything because of Magoosh. My best recommendation is that you take more than 3 months with Magoosh to have the best outcome happen.

I am yet to appear for my GMAT, but the resources of Magoosh was very comprehensive and upto date.
The focus of the course never shifts away from the core understanding of the concepts which is the most important part in the preparation.
The design of the course takes care of the understanding and the sequence you should follow for your preparation and you can trust it and follow it without worrying about a separate plan for your prep.
Although I feel the course best suits somebody who is starting with very little knowledge of GMAT. The videos does at times stretch towards a lot of basics. But you always have the option of rushing through it by reading the transcripts.
They even extended my course free of cost when I was not able to prepare during the course validity period.

I studied for approximately two months before I took the test the first time. I used Manhattan prep books, OG15, Math and Verbal OGs, and Aristotle Sentence Correction. I studied probably 3 to 4 hours a day for two months straight and could only seem to increase my score by 20 points on my first GMAT from my practice tests.

I then switched gears and ordered the Magoosh Premium Prep. I went through almost all the videos and about 1/3 of the practice problems. It seemed to provide the missing key to unlock a great score. I went from a 660 on my first test to a 740 on my second test. I think Magoosh tied together all the info I had learned and was a great review to take the test the second time.

Improvements that could be made:
-Be able to download videos or preload them some how - I travel a lot for work and had lots of time on my hands but no internet access while on the plane.
-Percentage complete of video lessons/minutes remaining in each section
