Magoosh was a fantastic choice for GMAT preparation. You need to be disciplined and persistent -- skills you'll need to enter any elite MBA program -- and follow through their well-structured study schedules.
The math videos are excellent and really give you a 360 degree view of the quantitative aspect of the GMAT. Many lessons are worth remembering for long after your GMAT.
Their weakest link was the verbal videos, which I found to be too theoretical and hard to follow. I suggest they take a lighter approach, but again, I had strong verbal scores prior to the examination.
Their practice bank is very good and seeing your progress as you solve 10-20 at a time definitely motivates you.
Magoosh also extended my subscription after I postponed my initial test date: a very generous gesture.
Great value for what you get out of it!
I purchased the premium product, but mainly used it to focus on increasing my math score. Great videos/resources, with thorough explanations. The 3 month daily study schedule also helped keep me accountable and on track. The additional resources are also key to your success with a full time job. The flashcards are an easy way to practice your math skills while on the metro commute to work. I had taken the GMAT once before without a course, but was unsatisfied with my score. Magoosh was more flexible than Princeton Review/Kaplan and was perfect for self-study. Highly recommend this course!
I took the Magoosh Premium course , found it very resourceful.
Especially the videos on CR, SC are the best out there.
Also, the explanations for the various practice questions were more than satisfactory and these were further complemented by their insightful blogs.
The only con is the Math lesson videos and the practice questions provided were very basic, nothing compared to the ones on the actual test. Few Math techniques being used are cumbersome , there are faster and easier ways of doing them (Example: Alligations and Mixtures ).
Overall, a very fine interface and an absolute value for money. If your main aim is to be economical this is the best option.
P.S:I also found the variable playback speed very helpful, especially since some of the videos are a bit slow.

Magoosh videos are brilliant. Very friendly and easy to understand. Magoosh support staff is absolutely brilliant. The time they spent in clearly answering questions shows team's commitment. I also liked its improved website and ability to take notes. There are lot of questions available to practise in timed sets and there are very useful ways to review the question set. I would recommend magoosh to anyone starting to prepare gmat. I would suggest to watch tough section videos multiple times and make sure to revisit problem one got wrong in each section. Also, do visit forums such as gmat club to check solutions of official problems in addition to magoosh.
I started using Magoosh (both the verbal and math) after I had already been using Manhattan for several months. I felt like something was missing from Manhattan--I was learning a lot but I didn't have enough practice questions to run through. Magoosh had LOTS of practice problems, and their video explanations of questions were AMAZINGLY helpful. I watched all of their lessons as well and felt like I learned a lot. My only critique is that their questions (like Manhattan's) weren't totally representative of the test questions. After I took the test for the first time, I switched to just practicing with real GMAT questions (I bought the tests & questions packs) and supplemented that with studying the lesson videos on Magoosh. I ultimately got a 690 on the GMAT, but that was from using Magoosh, GMAT practice tests and Manhattan in conjunction.
I loved the Magoosh online prep course. I signed up for the Magoosh prep course about a month before my actual exam date in order to supplement what I was already studying for the GMAT. Although the course is self-paced and delivered completely online, I like how there was a full video explanation for each practice question. The instructors really know their stuff and I felt that they went into more detail than most of the other GMAT courses out there in order to help you really understand each concept. I also really liked how I had the ability to customize the level of difficulty of each practice question. I started off with the easier questions to help build my confidence and then started working on the harder questions to really help challenge myself and prep for the actual test. I don't really write reviews but I must say that I highly recommend this course. The value you get is worth 20 times more than the price you pay for the course.
I took this course reading the great reviews and knowing I can study the material via apps on my phone since I travel every week being a consultant. I studied on flights, during lunch breaks, nights after work, made notes of important things. But in my practice mocks, I couldn't see much improvement, I moved from 550 to 650. I benefited a lot from Math section but Verbal score didn't see much jump. I realized that the SC course is teaching me excellent grammar details that I'm unable to retain, so it wasn't working well in my case, also I found CR section less detailed than required, with me unable to apply strategy consistently. So I realized I need another course for Verbal that was more practical for my current low level, I'm sure this course is great for a lot other people, but I couldn't derive the same benefit. But I kept coming back to Magoosh for other great things they offer : tips, idiom ebooks, math videos, question bank to practice timing, etc. I finally gave my first GMAT and got a satisfactory 730, and Magoosh did play 50 % role, so deserves credit. Their material is great, but can be improved.
I have tried couple of other products. What I found unique about Magoosh is that even when you are practicing problems you will always find yourself in front of a screen and a timer, so you become mentally prepared to solve questions with 2 mins limit. Something the proved invaluable when I took the actual test.
Magoosh dashboard is your best friend. There you can monitor your progress and analyze your performance by topic and difficulty level.
Additionally, I found Magoosh questions to be a bit harder than the actual exam which I thought was pretty helpful because they train you to spot patterns and discover the underlying issue very quickly
It was in June 2015 that I decided that I must appear for gmat exam in this year. But I was confused regarding the prep classes that I should take since the cost of prep was a major factor influencing my decision. A colleague of mine suggested me to purchase the premium package of magoosh. I purchased it for just around INR 6500 and started studying from Sept 1st week. I had scheduled my exam for 9th Oct and this was my 1st attempt. I knew that it was too ambitious of me to think that I could prepare in just a month's time, but I did anyway and I got a score of 730 with Q49 and V41. I am happy that the effort, time and money I invested paid off well :)
I got a 680 (Q-44, V-38) on my first GMAT and was really disappointed as I had put a lot of time in my studies and had gotten a 720 (Q-47, V-42) on my last GMAT prep practice exam. I enrolled with Magoosh only because of the 50 point guarantee but never expected to get at least a 730. I just took the test and got a 740 unofficial score with Q-49 and V-42. My Quant score has never been that high and I owe it all to Magoosh! The practice question are so well put and really makes you think about how to approach the official questions correctly.
Could you please let me know what other course you followed for your verbal prep ? I am just starting out my prep for the GMAT and would appreciate your help. Thanks.
