I am a Non Native and like majority of the Nonnatives I was also struggling with my Verbal section of GMAT, I never used to pick right answer for right reasons and always believe in those options which sounded correct to my ears and wasn't bothered about subject verb, modifiers, idioms etc.
I was always struggling to pick correct answer, then one day my friend suggested me to go through E-gmat videos and I was awestruck with their approach, I liked their 3 step process - (Analysis of Meaning, Sentence Structure, Options Analysis), their unique way of breaking the complex sentence into small parts suddenly allows you to see small details like subjects, verbs, modifiers, parallel components, etc.
E-gmat Verbal online course with live prep course is great, the beauty about live prep is that if somehow you have missed the live course you can always visit the recordings and ask your doubts from experts.I would definitely recommend the verbal online course along with Live-prep course especially for the nonnatives.

E-gmat Scholaranium is the best software to test your ability, gauge your progress and learn the concepts specially of moderate and hard level questions for all the topics.Their collection of questions is really good and the answer explanations are very elaborate and precise. Moreover the software gauges your ability and average response time(TAKT time) really well.According to me it is a MUST DO!!!!! I have tried several other prep companies but none is as good as this one both in terms of content and analysis. All the best to everyone taking the GMAT. Hope you will do well and E-gmat will play an important role in your journey.

Quant live prep proved very very helpful in improving by basics. Gmat quant never asks you questions involving surface knowledge. It requires you questions on the most basic of things which we tend to ignore. Quant Scholaranium gives you vast number of questions to practice and provides you the analysis to improve your skills and take your confidence to another level. I also liked the instructors. They are very helpful. Their explanations are crisp and easy to understand. I would definitely recommend the candidates to go for Quant live prep. It is simply a must own prep resource . All the best !

After scoring a dismal 680, I purchased the verbal live prep from e-GMAT, mainly to improve my verbal. I used to stumble in SCs and CRs. the course content is lucid and is ver easy to understand. The step-by-step framework to solve the SC drastically improved my skills and confidence in solving SCs, and it improved my RCs as well. I would especially like to talk about Scholaranium. It is the single most comprehensive practice resource I have ever come across. There are so many questions to practice, and there is so much analytics involved. It provided me all the analysis needed to improve my skills. I think verbal live prep is a must own for every non-native speaker. The instructors are prompt and helpful.

I am writing this review in the middle of my GMAT preparation.
I had some personal problems because of which I was unable to write my GMAT but am going to give within 60 days.
My only intention is to help out students( read strugglers) who are not able to decide which course to take.
A little bit about myself first : I am an engineering graduate from India and have been working for the past 7 years. Getting an MBA has been a long time goal for me ever since I passed out of college.
I started my GMAT preparation some 3 years ago. I was very confused which course to take or which books to study. I consulted a few of my friends and relatives who had appeared for GMAT in the past and everyone gave a different advice.
Like most of the people I trusted them and ended up purchasing a different MBA prep book everytime. Despite studying hard it was very difficult for me to choose the right answer. I always ended up in the 'best two' options and 'unluckily' or whatever someone may call it selected the wrong one atlast.
After having spent a lot of time in preparing, I decided to go for the real GMAT and got a very poor score(650).
I knew it was not at all sufficient to get me into a good b school.
One fine day I was going through a review in a local MBA blog about e-gmat and their course material specially designed for non natives. At first I thought it would be another gmat prep. trying to make money and hence using a different marketing strategy.
Later on I saw lots of reviews some of which were very similar to my own preparation methods.
I attended one of their free webinars during a weekend and liked their way of teaching.
I finally decided to write them an email asking in detail about their course and fee structure and everything.
They gave me an option of full refund if I donot like the course material within 10 days of purchasing.
As I started going through their material, I found them quite easy to understand and very interactive. It was very similar to an offline tutor.
I have read every available GMAT prep. book and not a single book was able to make the grammar concept so clear as e gmat did.
Also, the way the course is designed, it maintains a very medium pace, making sure the student understands every bit of it.
It has not only taught me all the good things to do in the real GMAT but also the bad things to avoid.
Today having spend a brief amount of time with their course I can say it with full confidence that this is no doubt the best online material for verbal preparation.
I gave a mock test last week and saw a 50 point increase in my overall GMAT score !
Now I am very confident that I will surely score better than what I did last time.
However I still want to improve further and thats why giving myself some more time.
My very honest recommendation to all non native English speakers is to take up this course and your verbal scores will increase for sure.
The tutors are very promt in clearing all your doubts.
My special thanks to Rajat, Payal and Shraddha.
If someone has any doubts then feel free to reach out to me.

regards
Hitesh

I was comfortable about taking GMAT with my own preparation since I had always scored better on standardized tests in the past. My previous scores on GRE (90+ percentile on Verbal), and higher scores on TOEFL and IELTS had made me complicit that I would score well on GMAT Verbal too.

However, I was in for an unpleasant shock. After doing what I considered enough preparation for Verbal, I managed to score paltry 640 (Q46, V33) in my first GMAT.

Although dismayed at the outcome, I convinced myself that I was rusty after being out of school for more than a decade. So I decided to give it another shot with lot more preparation than before. Again, I was adamant not to enroll in any external prep course, although I decided to add more practice and mock tests in my preparation- this time especially for Verbal section. I had noticed I struggled with Combitronics and CR in my prep as well as in real test. Hence I also purchased Manhatten Advanced Quant Book and Critical Reasoning Bible (David Killoran) after reading few great reviews.

After taking enough time (6 more months at self paced studying), I took GMAT a second time. This time I fared only marginally better (Q48,V35) totaling to 670. There was no doubt in my mind now - if I wanted to break into 700s, I needed a drastic change in the manner in which I was approaching questions. My Verbal section score essentially remained flat despite special efforts on my part. I had seen promos of eGMAT and therefore decided to give it a try – as a last resort of sorts.

Few things struck me immediately about eGMAT Verbal Live Prep:-

(1) The presentation format (audio+video) accounted for a much immersed and enjoyable learning experience. The organization of the course is also excellent – starting with basic building blocks in each of the 3 Verbal sections – SC, CR and RC, and then providing enough practice to master the approach and building finer skills.

(2) The 6 Live sessions on weekends are a great way to cement the approach to solve problems and identify mistakes in your approach as you dissect a problem from every possible angle – working along with the instructor and rest of the class. Many times I thought I had the assumptions identified correctly in CR problem, only to find out 2 minutes later that I was not probing with the right questions to begin with. I would give credit to eGMAT instructors Shraddha (for SC) and Payal (for CR) as they make the topics appear easy and interesting.

(3) Lastly, I want to give kudos to eGMAT for their 2 Strategy sessions. I ordered an Enhanced Score report of my last GMAT after hearing about it in the session and it allowed me to identify and scrutinize problem areas in far more granular detail than before. The other information shared in those sessions (on computer adaptive questions and scoring algorithm) are good too. Scholaranium platform is of particular help since it allows you to practice timing and analyze patterns in your practice.

My mock test scores have been V38+ after going thru the course – at times crossing V40. Encouraged by this fact, I am daring to attempt GMAT again in a month’s time. I know eGMAT guarantees 4 point improvement, however, based on the quality of course material and the very reasonable cost, I think it is a wise investment in any case – especially if you have tried improving on your own and are struck at a particular score.

The Quant course offered by eGMAT is very comprehensive and holistic in nature. The concepts are taught in a very simplistic manner and ehe quizzes are very helpful to understand how the concepts are tested.

The best part of the program is the Quant Scholaranium. It has question ranging from easy to hard topic and one can easily refresh the entire course through them.Further ,it helps one to understand one's strength and weakness.

I would be taking my GMAT again and hopefully these concepts learned from e-gmat will help improving my score and I will touch the magical figure of 51

October 2015 – V19
March 2016 – V29 (After e-GMAT preparation)

I am a non native English speaker and have been prepping for the GMAT for a quite sometime from august 2015. I took my first official GMAT test last october and the outcome is as you could see above. I am not yet done and will write my 3rd very soon. I started my preparation with the OG and going through tens of forum posts on GMAT Club. However, by october 2015 I was ready, or so I felt. The preparation material I have used were Manhatten prep, GMAT club test, Powerprep and GMAC prep. I was quite confident of getting a 700+ score as the mock tests were giving me quite assuring results. However as it turned out to be the actual score in verbal was a disaster. I couldn't find any explanation to my results as I thought memorising the rules will make me successful in answering verbal questions. I find there is no shortage in these book itself, however, later I came to believe that the key is to understand the question and apply the correct approach in answering the GMAT questions.

As I couldn't sort out the reason for my poor score I was undecided as to my next move in Verbal. Frustrated and unwilling to give up I wrote a review in GMAT club forum to understand what actually went wrong. Thats when I was contacted by Rajat explaining about the e-GMAT verbal live prep course and its success among non native speakers. At first I was reluctant but later decided to invest in Verbal live prep after attending some live preparation session as I saw the difference in how the verbal session was approached. Now that I realize the values that the courses offered and I've been through others', I think I can provide my thoughts into E-GMAT verbal preparation course.

- I should say the SC course is brilliant ! It took me some time to understand how to go about the preparation. But do get the preparation schedule as proscribed and stick to it. The course material is laid out in such fashion that it starts from scratch with some basic grammer rules to topic by topic approach. Each topic is arranged systematically in small chapters from basic to advanced level each containing pre-quiz, then concept explanation and post assessment quiz followed by E-GMAT practice questions and OG questions.

The valuable bit I found apart from answeting the questions correctly is the explanation as to why the other answer choices are incorrect. This has helped me a lot in testing my understanding as well as reinforcing my foundations. This is especially valuable for non-English speakers to approach the questions systematically and get the right answer.

- CR course though needed a different approach in answering the questions I found the e-GMAT 3 step approach of understanding the argument, prethinking and selecting the answer choice as a valuable tool. Especially the prethinking was an eye opener as this has focused my thought process in selecting the correct choice.

Though some of the questions were way out, the underlying course material for CR was good trying to focalise on question types and how to go about solving them. The Quiz platform is brilliant with brilliant analytics and also the choice to pick easy, moderate and hard questions.

- RC course is also very good. I started out as not as strong but now these are my comfortable subjects. E-gmat did a good job but practice and practice until it makes you comfortable.

e-GMAT's staff were keen to get the questions answered and correct any gap in the understanding. As well as the e-GMAT support team response are always quick and helpful. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with both the courses and I hope to return here with my success story.

e-GMAT's Verbal definitely the best verbal prep course I've taken. The analytical approach to verbal questions. e-GMAT's 3 step process is a must, and the videos sessions make it easier for you to learn and remember the concepts. It provides the complete coverage of questions.

The forum is also very useful, any questions are answered within a day and the explanation is very clear and easy to understand

For those of you who are weak in verbal, e-GMAT provides a logical approach which is easy to understand and remember.

I would definitely recommend e-GMAT's course to anyone who wants to ace GMAT verbal

RCs can make or break your Verbal Score!! [V34- V41] => 710 to 750

I had given my GMAT more than a year ago (710- V34, Q50) and at that point of time I used to absolutely dread RCs. I found them really mundane and could never get myself to focus. While my quant was always strong, and CR and SC were average, RCs just didn't come to me naturally. And no, this does not mean that I'm weak at English in general. Infact, I'm among the most annoying grammar nazis that you may across. But each time I would come across an RC in the middle of my mocks, I would feel low and lose time and thereby end up rushing through my SC and CR questions as well.

Then, my friend introduced me to e-GMAT and I cannot thank him enough for having done that. After a year long break, I felt the need to go over SC and CR concepts as well and the videos provided by e-GMAT made them a whole lot of fun. I would stay up till late night, watching the videos, almost like I'd be watching a sitcom. They were light and helped me brush up my concepts very well. I had read someone's review about making handwritten notes while watching videos and then transferring those onto Evernote at the end of each day as that would not only help you revise, but also create a handy notebook for you to skim through while you're on the move. This tip helped me a lot and I would really recommend it to you all as well. I made my notes nice and colourful and added screenshots and links to them. Going over them later seemed fun because of all the colours I had added. (let me know if you want me to share them with you!)

The RC videos were really helpful as well. e-GMAT provides you a number of key strategies that you must keep in mind while reading through RCs. The one strategy that worked wonders for me was "to get immersed". I would literally tell myself at the beginning of each passage that "Oh! this sounds interesting, lets read what happens next!" I even used the note making approach during RCs quite regularly and was thereby able to get ALL my main point and structure questions right. These strategies seem very time consuming in the beginning, but within no time, you start to internalise them.

The other thing that I absolutely loved about the VLP was the scholaranium. Since I knew that RC was my weak point, I had decided to do atleast 4 passages every day, along with 20 SCs and 20 CRs. I used to create a lot of RC Ability quizzes and while I started with a 43% accuracy (with no time left to answer the last one), by the end I had 96% accuracy which was a great achievement for me. Infact, the day before my GMAT, when I sat down to give my RC ability test, I felt I was able to breeze through it easily. I wasn't spending to much time reading and even the answers were coming to me naturally.
When I submitted the test, I saw my score report in which I had just one (Hard) question wrong out of a total of 4 RC passages. This was my biggest confidence booster and I was sure that my GMAT would go well this time, which it did!

Infact, I finished by Quant section 18 minutes in advance and my Verbal section 15 minutes in advance and landed up with a V41, Q50 and a total of 750. I was literally shivering while answering my last few Verbal questions because the difficulty level had gone up which also meant my score was going up.

I wouldn't say that a V41 is a kickass score, but for someone like me who dreaded RCs to such a large extent, it was definitely an accomplishment, specially since I was now able to answer the questions so much faster.

Thank you e-GMAT once again and thanks to all those who read my review till the very end. I hope I was able to motivate a few of you out there like me, who may have totally given up on RC.

All the best to you all !!
