I had the pleasure of working with Sherry on my business school applications. She was a tremendous resource and fantastic consultant. From beginning to end, she kept me sane and guided me through the process with lots of encouragement and honest feedback. She was available whenever I needed her – from talking about application strategy to editing essays to interview prep. It was easy to find time to talk on the phone and she replied to e-mails often within a few hours.
Sherry gave me realistic advice and I valued her as both a supporter and honest critic. She helped me put together a cohesive application that told my story in my own voice. Beginning with my resume and how to navigating school networking events all the way through negotiating scholarships, Sherry was an expert guide and reviewer.
Beyond Sherry, I worked with other members of the Stacy Blackman team to get second opinions and blind reviews. Sherry was an advocate for my application and was working to help me put together the best narrative possible and was open to incorporating ideas from others to make sure we achieved this goal.
It was absolutely worth the investment to work with Sherry and the Stacy Blackman team. Sherry was one of the first people I called to thank when I was admitted to Yale SOM!

I used Stacy Blackman Consulting's hourly services after a friend recommended them to me. She used the comprehensive package but I was not able to afford that so started using them after I had a list of schools I was interested in and had started writing the essays. I worked with Sherry, who was incredibly helpful, on overall application strategy (briefly), essay review (45%), and interview prep (45%). She also was able to talk me through what to highlight from my career and extracurriculars, and how to tailor each application to each school specifically. I got the flu a few weeks before the application deadline so was running behind on the essays, but Sherry still managed to fit in editing my many essays. While the comprehensive package would have been valuable, the hourly services were just what I needed and working with Sherry was great!

I was interviewed at 4 out of the 6 schools I applied to (and was really reaching for 4 of the schools I applied to in terms of test scores) and so far have been accepted at 3 of those schools including Fuqua. Thank you Sherry!

I would really like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Stacy Blackman and particularly to my consultant, Sherry Holland, without whom I couldn’t have succeeded in the admission process. With a sub-par GPA, a decent GMAT score and my demographics, few gave me any chance! But guess what? I was invited to interview with all the schools I applied to-Wharton, Columbia, Kellogg and Indian School of Business and ultimately made it to Columbia and Indian School of Business, and wait listed at Kellogg. I have no doubt that my consultant played an extremely critical role in my success. Her in-depth experience in MBA admissions reflected throughout the process in her thoughts, suggestions and feedback on various areas of applications-Positioning, Essays and Interviews. She was extremely diligent in her approach, even making sure that I have the right opening to get into the admission officer's head and the right ending to leave a lasting impression. In all honestly and sincerity I recommend her to anybody who is considering B-School. In fact my wife would be also using her services for her B-School applications. I believe this itself is a testimonial to my experience.

I am ecstatic that I have been accepted to my first choice program - Duke! Just a few months ago, I was reading numerous testimonials from admitted MBA candidates on the Stacy Blackman website wondering if I would be lucky enough to be accepted to a top program. With a GMAT score 640, I knew I had a slim chance and I had to win over admissions committees with my essays, recommendations and interviews. Sherry, my consultant worked relentlessly with me to PERFECT my applications. I asked a lot questions and Sherry was always available to answer my questions promptly and thoroughly. Sherry was incredibly meticulous, sincere, knowledgeable and diligent -- She was my MBA bible. The MBA application process is quite overwhelming and much more complex than I had imagined. With her help, I was able to navigate the process with ease and confidence. She reviewed my essays with a fine tooth comb each and every time (and I had over 10 drafts) and she pushed me to dig deeper and further to pull my thoughts together. Sherry and the team know what qualities and personal traits admissions committees are looking for in a candidate and this allows them to help you hone in on your best attributes and let you shine on your applications. This has been one of the most exhausting, and yet exhilarating and reflective journeys of my life and I am grateful for my success. Thank you again Sherry and the team!

I spoke with 11 different firms when deciding who to work with on my applications. It was easy to axe out 8 of them. Many were quite new to the business and I felt that if I had the opportunity to work with a company that's been around for a decade, then why not? Why would I go with someone who had a 5 year or less track record? Plus several of them were not professional or terribly responsive just when setting up the initial calls to gather information. I thought it can only go downhill from there. Ultimately it came down to Stacy Blackman, Veritas and MBA Mission. Veritas felt like a machine, very big -in fact they tout being the biggest on their website which was not something I liked. Also, they clearly focus on test prep, college admissions and other areas. MBA Mission also has a law school arm. I liked the MBA focus at SBC. I also liked the fact that I had many options for reviews with SBC. I definitely took advantage of this when working with them. My consultant Sherry was awesome, but I also had other members of the team check in which Sherry organized for me. When you are trading ten emails a day with your consultant - it's nice to get that outside perspective from a new person. In terms of my experience with Sherry - it was spectacular. It was a true pleasure to work with her day in and day out. She went the extra mile for me every single day and I know she cared very much about my outcomes. This is more than just a gig to make $$ for her. I don't know what I would have done without the support of Sherry and SBC in general and highly recommend using them.

I am an executive leader with 13 years of executive management experience who applied to several EMBA programs only to be denied two years in a row. I was very discouraged and frustrated when a friend recommended I contact Stacy Blackman Consulting. I contacted SBC and found everyone in the firm kind and helpful. During the first phone call with my consultant, Sherry Holland, I was sure that she is the one who going to make it happen. Her support, expertise and guidance were impeccable. She was a confident and a secure base for me as well as a knowledgeable consultant who put all her time to ensure my success. This year with Sherry's help and rigorous preparation for my interview, I sailed through it with confidence and was admitted to my dream school without even having to take the GMAT!

Without Sherry's help, I know I would not have been admitted. I recommend SBC and Sherry Holland if you want a true professional who will support you and always be honest with you. She always said: I am going to tell you what you need to hear, not necessarily what you want to hear in order to make you a stronger candidate. It is proven to me that no other consulting firm understands the admission process like SBC does.

What I am most impressed is the devotion of my consultant Sherry during various stages. She is very professional, experienced, intelligent, encouraging, devoted, and patient. She listens to my personal story and insightfully points out the weakness. She shared my materials with another consultant (former Admissions Officer) for feedback. All of us work as a team to perfect the story. As a non-native English speaker and a non-business background applicant, I constantly struggled making my meanings clearly in a business sense. However, Sherry always listens clearly and patiently to what I have in mind, and helps me to express it perfectly. I also sincerely appreciate the devotion from Sherry due to my aggressive schedule. Without her help and the SBC team, I can’t finish the process speedy and smoothly. THANK YOU Sherry! I am going to my only one dream school – Columbia Business School!!!”

I had a great experience working with Sherry from SBC.

I felt like Sherry was invested in me. We worked very well together. I was a candidate with some good and some bad. Therefore, I felt my application could read good or bad. So, I hired Sherry to help make sure it’s the former. Here are some more specifics on my experience.

Editing – Great feedback. Took my essays to an entirely different level. Found a way to present my stories in a way that washed over you while reinforcing my key points. My essays would have otherwise felt choppy and forced as I tried to fit all of my info into it.

School Selection – She helped with suggestions and encouraged a lot of contact with current students.

Company Resources – Great! Wonderful tools and a great resource for nuts and bolts as I selected schools.

Interviewing – Great feedback.

Sherry and I both confirmed each other after an interview with staff at SBC. After that, I interviewed with a few consultants and made my choice. Then the consultants also had to want to work with me. I think this helped me find a great match.

Thank you Sherry! I got into Ross and I’m awaiting Haas results. She helped make my candidacy!

I had a great time working with Sherry from Stacy Blackman. Even
though we live in opposite side of the world Sherry was always
happy to find a time that was suitable for me, even if it meant
she had to work early in the morning PST time. We were able to
work together through multiple essay iterations and each time I
found her comments to be very helpful. Sherry's experience with
the admission process and her knowledge of the b-school I was
applying to was also a great help. She gave me good feedback on
how to approach interview questions during our mock interview as
well as information about the school that you would not find
through the school webpage. I recommend Stacy Blackman
Consulting. They really did a great job evaluating my profile
and pairing me with someone who would best help me to succeed in
the application process. Cheers!

I researched consulting services extensively and am very happy that I chose Stacy Blackman Consulting. Their methodology is very helpful, especially the personalized central plan that guides the application process. As I found that the top consulting services were comparable in price, I choose Stacy Blackman because of Sherry Holland, who became my consultant. She was kind, understanding, and always available. Sherry was fabulous at keeping me organized and on track - creating a timeline, developing a plan, and streamlining the many details and challenges of the application process. It was incredibly helpful to have her guidance throughout. I would highly recommend Stacy Blackman's comprehensive consulting services and particularly Sherry Holland.
