I decided to attend an MBA to go to the tech industry, a career change for me.
I couldn't be more happy with UNC Kenan-Flagler.
Chapel Hill is an amazing city, the school's facilities are great and the housing is superb (and cheap). The city has a lot of students and it is easy to have fun. The core course is very strict and I felt very well prepared for my MBA internship. The first year was tough, but when I look back and think about everything I learned so far (specially data analytics, that I am focusing on), I feel very satisfied.
I had the opportunity to truly immerse in the US culture.
The program totally met my goals: to teach the subject matter (business), to provide a great alumni networking and to open up job opportunities in tech industry. Of course the program has a lot to improve, but for me it was a good decision to join UNC.
We have amazing professors. As a non-native speaker, the class that made me improve the most was communications, and we have many of them.
The job searching is hard, but it depends almost 90% on the candidate than and 10% on the school. Those 10% are the positions on campus. If you are an international you probably will struggle, but you just have to put a lot of effort on networking and job search.

The culture at Kenan-Flagler is really amazing and one of the best things in the program. You have a very diverse student body, especially in terms of background, and most of the activities are done in teams. Students help each other every time possible. Besides, being an school in a small town helps to make students very involved with the MBA (there's no big city distractions!). Chapel Hill is an amazing college town, that is very proud of the Carolina Blue and breathes football and basketball. The classes are top-notch, with amazing professors in the majority of courses. I would say that facilities and classes are similar to every other top MBA. The career clubs play an incredible role in your recruitment - they are very good (even better than the career management). Career opportunities: there are plenty for americans and internationals with work-authorization, but not so many for internationals. If you are good and invest your time in recruiting, it will pay off eventually (as any MBA too).

I have an engineering background and although business was not hard to understand, I missed more formal education on that. So far, I have learned a lot. Many professors in the core are stars. They make a huge effort to teach and to engage with the classroom.
After being here for 4 months I can already see some results, and the overall is above my expectations (I really thought I would have a less steep learning curve).
For future applicants: Kenan-Flagler is all about fit. You have to be a collaborative person in all levels. Make sure you show this in your application. Here, we really mean our core values (Teamwork, Community, Leadership, Excellence, Integrity). Also, if you are either international or weak in math, you should do ASW. It's a way to get used to classes in English and to remind some concepts.
KFBS is very quantitative driven and its core is very intensive. People with unusual back can struggle. However, it is possible to schedule appointments with tutors, teacher's assistants, or the professor (usually they have office hours). Students usually help each other too. Once the core is done, life gets a little bit easier. Many electives do not have exams, and courses vary between cases and lectures.
CMC is not one of the best. Although a couple of advisors are very helpful, they are more the exception than the rule. The school is aware of that and seems to be willing to fix that issue. Some recent changes in the CMC structure are clearly one attempt to make it stronger. International students will definitely struggle more than domestic.

CMC didn't meet my expectations. Expect to do independent research and not be totally reliant on career management center. They will help out with resume building and setting up company presentations but it's up to you to network and build relationships.
Extremely front-loaded program. Expect a brutally hard first semester
Get involved in greater UNC campus outside of business school
Some very impressive professors
Strong career clubs and second year support in internship searches
Lots of elective options
Robust international community allows you to meet students from all over the world
Study abroad opportunities are also very common. School run global immersion programs give a fast paced two week opportunity to visit locations all over the world. Full semester or half semester trips abroad are also available in second year
Get involved in extracurriculars because student leadership options are all over and tend to be impressive to recruiters to frame your skill sets, if done correctly

From the very beginning, KFBS overcome my expectations. I was ready to focus on my career (which i though I knew what it was) but as soon as I started BS, I discovered that there were so many other alternatives that I never even though about exploring. Both school and your classmates will help you to find your career path in a safe environment, where making a mistake in not the end of the world!!
With a lot of opportunities to show your leadership skills, the school is the perfect fit for those who are looking for a chance to make a change in the community and have strong alumni network that goes beyond the people you can know directly.
