After 4 years at top bank (think JPM, Morgan Stanley) as a data & tech attorney. At the bank, worked on +$10B M&A, many leadership experiences (leading India office & collaborating global teams) and project managing experience. Switched to tech startup, leading organization change and business development in past 2 years (wearing multiple hats - from organization management, business development to marketing). Good accomplishments growing the startup in past 2 years.

(Currently on H4 visa and will have EAD by the time of graduation in 2027, no employer sponsorship will be needed).

Pluses: gender, GPA, brands (banks) on CV, different educational background of law
Other considerations needing care: GMAT may (just may) be average (655 GFE = 700/710 classic) and below most T15; A clear narrative spine for multiple 'why's' will matter a lot: why law, why banks, why startups, why BD, why consulting or PMM, why tech; evidence of understanding what consulting truly is, what evidence do you have for the three critical skills every consultant needs...

Hey, @Anonymous1909

You have a strong profile characterized by a solid 3.7 GPA that meets the expectations of top MBA programs. Your professional experience has underscored your abilities to analyze complex transactions, while your positions as a leader have shown your capability to handle diverse teams is valued by schools that concentrate on global exposure and group work.

Transitioning into a technology startup and taking multiple responsibilities prove how versatile you are in any situation, with notable accomplishments in growing the startup that will resonate with adcoms looking for candidates who can drive change. A GMAT score of 655 is good and competitive, especially given that you also have a high GPA and job experience. Your consulting or product management goals align well with your background, and your long-term focus on technology is strategic. Clearly articulating how an MBA supports your vision will be key in your essays and interviews.

Applying to Darden and Tuck is a good choice since they appreciate diversity in experiences and leadership. With good preparation, your strong profile will make a strong case for admission.

We’d be happy to discuss your profile in more detail and help enhance your application’s competitiveness.Feel free to schedule a call with us here for an in-depth profile evaluation and additional benefits.
. We match you with the students and alums of top B-Schools according to your background and target schools.

What do you mean by good preparation? Preparation for what? Are you talking about interview preparation or test preparation or some other preparation?

Congratulations on a strong profile!

Your GMAT is borderline and it may be good enough but you are a bit in the grey zone. Usually applicants with strong profiles who have a borderline or below average GMAT, go the route of taking the GRE where the average below average score is usually ignored. I understand you are 3 to 4 weeks from the application deadlines but in case you strike out in round one, that could be a potential back door to circumvent competitiveness... but that back door has been closing and it’s becoming tighter and tighter.

Hi, I am Priyanka, Client Manager at ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, GMAT seems a bit of concern, for your target schools I would recommend something close to 695 or even above.
GPA looks good. Being 7 years in the industry, I am sure there are enormous things you can speak about. Make your work experience the major highlight of your application. Talk about IMPACT. This can subside your borderline GMAT score.

You have big brands on your resume, make the best use of them. Your desire to transition from Law to Consulting establishes a need for an MBA. If you are planning to go ahead with your current score, make sure you have strongly worked on other aspects of your application.

You haven’t mentioned your extracurriculars, do you think there’s anything that would add uniqueness and impress the adcoms, maybe! XD
